A: Hello TKO, the M317 mouse comes with a unifying receiver. The tiny Unifying receiver connects up to six Unifying-compatible devices with a powerful, reliable wireless connection (up to 25 meters).
submitted byLogitech - 6 years agoBrand expertA: The M317c mouse is NOT compatible with unifying receivers. I purchased one to replace the receiver that came with this mouse and it would not pair, saying that the device was incompatible.

Q: Would this work with an iPad if I have an adapter?
A: Hi, thanks for reaching out about Logitech Wireless Optical Mouse with Nano Receiver M317 - Black: Compatible with Windows, macOS, Chrome OS, Linux. Yes, the Logitech M317 will work with an iPad if you use the correct adapter, but there are a few important things to know about how it feels and functions. Since the M317 uses a USB Nano Receiver (and does not have Bluetooth), the iPad needs a way to "see" that USB plug. 1. Choosing the Right Adapter The adapter you need depends on which charging port your iPad has: For iPads with a USB-C port (iPad Pro 2018+, iPad Air 4+, iPad 10th Gen, iPad Mini 6): You need a USB-C to USB Adapter (often called an OTG adapter). For iPads with a Lightning port (Older iPads and base models): You need the Lightning to USB Camera Adapter. Note: The Battery-powered M317 is low-power, so it usually works fine, but sometimes Lightning iPads require the "USB 3 Camera Adapter" which has an extra port to plug in a charger at the same time. 2. How it Works on iPadOS Once you plug the receiver into the adapter and the adapter into the iPad: The Cursor: A small circular cursor will appear on your screen. Left/Right Click: These will work for selecting apps and opening menus. Scrolling: The scroll wheel will work, but it may feel "backward" (Natural Scrolling) compared to a PC. You can change this in Settings > General > Trackpad & Mouse. No Custom Buttons: Any special programmable buttons or Logitech software features won't work on iPad; it will function as a basic 3-button mouse. If you have any additional questions, we welcome you to contact MyTGTtech at 833-848-8324 every day, between 7am-11pm CST.
