Description
This First Alert CO710 Carbon Monoxide Alarm features a 10-year built-in lithium battery for continuous monitoring during the life of the alarm, and uses an electrochemical carbon monoxide sensor and an 85-decibel alarm to alert you to CO threats.
The advanced electrochemical CO sensor detects carbon monoxide leaks from multiple sources, such as faulty fuel-burning appliances, blocked chimneys, and generators running inside or too close to homes.
Because CO evenly distributes itself, it's important to have a CO detector on every level and in every bedroom of your home. This easy-to-use alarm features a digital display that shows ambient temperature as well as peak CO levels. The detector's stylish design looks great on top of a dresser or table.

A: Thank you for your question. This unit is not a plug in alarm and runs off of a 10-yr sealed battery.

A: Thank you for reaching out. First Alert’s carbon monoxide alarms are designed to alarm before there is an immediate life threat. Underwriters Laboratories Inc. Standard UL2034 requires residential CO alarms to sound when exposed to levels of CO and exposure times as described below. They are measured in parts per million (PPM) of CO over time (in minutes). CO Level: 70 PPM, Alarm Response Time: 1 to 4 hours. CO Level 150 PPM: Alarm Response Time: 10 to 50 minutes. CO Level: 400 PPM, Alarm Response Time: 4 to 15 minutes.

In addition to only have to replace it every ten years, I like you can place on a table or shelf as I am not a big fan of drilling a bunch holes in the wall so I like that option.

Easy to read
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am very happy with this item so far! I have young kids in the house and always take very precaution that I can. This was very easy to set up and is wonderful to read. It is small and fits very easily anywhere. I like that it doesn't have to be plugged in and runs on a battery. The battery does not last a very long time. I do like that you can mount it or just having it set up on a counter. I am so glad I got this detector, it definitely keeps my mind at ease knowing myself and my family is safe.

It is light weight, user friendly, and has a thermostat displayed on the front screen. The read of the thermostat is pretty accurate. The material it’s made out of feels sturdy. It has a blue lighting on the back screen and the alert beeping sound is not super loud or annoying. Can place it anywhere in the home or take it with you anywhere needed for extra protection. No need to mount it up on wall. Overall it works really well but if the battery dies ( says it will last 10 years) there is no replacement battery so you would have to buy another one.

I love that there’s no installation needed - it sits right on the shelf or wherever you place it so no need to get out the toolbox. It also has a 10 year lithium power cell so no digging in the battery box hoping to find that one last 9 volt battery you know is in there somewhere and no more of those annoying low battery chirps!!! But my favorite feature is the digital temperature display. It’s just a handy little bonus in my opinion! I feel secure now knowing we’ll be alerted to any carbon monoxide leaks in our home thanks to this alarm from First Alert.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I trust this product. It was INCREDIBLY simple to install and has proven to be very durable. The battery life is fantastic and you can stick it just about anywhere. The instructions for use are incredibly easy. You basically just put it somewhere out of sight, sit back, and hope it doesn't tell you there's some kind of problem. Can't beat that at all. I also appreciated the fact that the instructions gave guidance on where in the room to put the device. I don't have a ton of experience with this kind of stuff, so knowing where I could and could not deploy the detector was surprisingly helpful. I'd hate to do it wrong and miss a problem!

I realized that it was way past time to finally get a proper high quality CM detector. Then i proceeded to do my due diligence in researching the huge variety of CM detectors out there. I finally decided that this was my best choice. Lots of excellent features ranging from the Parts Per Million detector, along with the temperature gauge and night time lighting feature, not to mention the ease of mind in knowing i have one less worry in this world.

Loud enough to hear!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My family's safety is my number one priority. I have a carbon monoxide detector in every room. However, those aren't as easy to operate as the First Alert. It's runs on battery power unlike the other detectors, it doesn't need to be plugged in. It has a battery life that lasts for 10 years. Super easy to activate switch on the back of the unit. I tested the alarm and it's loud enough to alert you to evacuate when the carbon monoxide levels are detected. The digital temperature display is an added bonus feature.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I want to always make my home safe and the carbon monoxide detector is a product I want in my house. The detector is easy to read and install. Plug it in and that's all you need. The alarm is loud and can be heard on the next level of my home. I highly recommend getting this detector and installing in your home. I have carbon monoxide detectors installed in every level of my home because we had a carbon monoxide leak a few years ago. If we didn't have one installed I probably wouldn't be here rating this product.

The detector saved my family's life by being so extremely accurate. During a family trip we were in the car sleeping overnight and the detector went off causing us to wake up and notice a small fire coming from the hood. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I normally have a carbon monoxide detector that plugs into the wall and takes up the whole outlet. I like how this you can just set anywhere and move it out of the way really. If you don’t want to set it on a tabletop then you can also mount it, it is pretty versatile. It’s definitely a space saver. The display is super easy to read and is pretty easy to figure out. There is a 10 year battery so you don’t have to worry about it for awhile. This also displays the room temperature as well, which is an added bonus for me!

It is a sleek, modern, compact design. On the back of the package it shows you different places that you can place this to get the most effective usage out of this. First Alert is a brand that you can trust when it comes to safety. I wanted to get this as we all know Carbon Monoxide is odorless, can not be heard or seen. What better way to protect your family? You can chose to either use the provided screws and drywall anchors to attach to a wall, or you can place it on a table in the room where you want it. The instructions and information provided are very clear and easy to understand. The instructions are very specific with where you can/cannot place the alarm. It also has information about what different beeps mean and emergency information about CO. Once the CO alarm is ready to go, the temperature will be displayed. I feel safer in my home now knowing that my family will be alerted of any carbon monoxide problems.
