Healthy Choice Frozen Protein Bowls Korean-Style Beef – 9.5oz

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My daughter lived in Korea for several years. When she came home she introduced us to some of her favorite flavors from there. Chief among them? Gochujang. I’ve been obsessed ever since. This power bowl combines all the elements that make a dish great. Tender beef bites coupled with veggies, quinoa, and rice in a flavorful gochujang-spiced sauce? Yes, please! And most importantly, it’s absolutely delicious! I’ve lost 50 Pounds recently and I’m striving to maintain my weight loss goals. Healthy Choice has been a huge part of that. The Korean beef is always my go-to because it leaves me full while only containing 300 calories. It hits my protein target as well making this an absolute Winner Winner Korean Bowl Dinner!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband loves the Healthy Choice Korean inspired beef. He likes spicy foods and this is perfect for him. I enjoy many of the Healthy Choice meals. They are tasty with good sized portions. They are convenient, easy to cook and at a good price.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Earlier this year, I was swamped with back to back final exams. I truly felt drained, and I didn't want to cook at all. So I stopped by a random grocery store on my drive home after my last class of the day and visited the frozen food aisle. I just needed something in my stomach to help give me an ounce of energy. I chose the Korean-inspired beef, not thinking much about the flavor. I arrived home, immediately threw it in the microwave, and waited for the familiar sound of a 'ding'. Carefully picking at the hot food, I ate some, hoping it tasted decent enough to eat at all. The mild spice hit me right away then the light sweetness brought me back. It is so, so tasty. It has a perfect balance between the flavors. The spice isn't too overwhelming and the sweetness isn't cavity inducing sweet either. Since then, I've been trying a new flavor when I need a pick me up. But this Korean-inspired beef flavor will always be a favorite.

This Korean-style Beef is my favorite Healthy Choice meal. I’m picky with my vegetables and I don’t like carrots (too sweet for a vegetable in my opinion), but I eat every bit of this Healthy Choice meal, even the carrots, because the sauce is just THAT tasty. I do like spicy, and this had enough heat to it to keep me happy. Sure, I’d love more beef, but I don’t expect that from a microwave meal. The mushrooms are a great addition to the beef for umami flavor and provide almost as good “substance” to this meal as the beef. I also like that unlike the Healthy Choice Steamers, this is just heat and eat in the healthier cardboard bowl vs the multipart/have-to-combine plastic dishes of the Steamers (but my next favorite HC meal is the HC Steamers Beef Chimichurri, also a good beef dish with heat). My Target hasn’t had this Korean-style Beef meal in stock for a while now and most of the nearby Targets don’t have it either. Please bring this back in stock at most Targets. I really don’t want to have to drive miles to buy this (but I will if I really have to)

I just tried this protein bowl. If the Korean flavor you want is capsaicin, this product delivers it! So much, in fact, that I could taste nothing else in the forkful I put in my mouth - which is still burning minutes later! The remainder of the meal and bowl are in the bin. Before you judge me as someone who doesn't know spicy, my family lived in South Asia and Mexico when I was growing up and I am well acquainted with spicy food.

This is just about my favorite Healthy Choice dinner. The only reason I say "just about" is because there are a couple of others that I also really like. This one is either my favorite, or maybe tied for favorite. If I go to stock up on them and the store doesn't have any available, I am very disappointed. I just went to my local store last night to stock up and this particular dinner was marked as "close-out" on the shelf, but there were no boxes to be seen in the store freezer, so I'm worried that it might be discontinued, which is why I came here tonight to check the Healthy Choice website. I don't see anything here to indicate that this product is being discontinued, but I just want to say that if it is, I'm going to be seriously disappointed about it.

The flavor is spot on, and I love that a good kick of spice, just how I like it. My only complaint is that I wish the portion size was a bit bigger because I was still a bit hungry afterwards. But for a frozen Protein bowl is really solid and I don’t give the “frozen food” taste after.

I've been eating these protein bowls for a few months now and rotate through the flavors. Gotta say the taste and quality for a frozen food bowl is 5 stars. So much flavor. This korean beef bowl is definitely on the high side of spice for me, which is crazy for a frozen dinner. Kudos also for a paper bowl so I'm not wasting so much plastic. My only complaint is that I wish they were bigger, I'm usually hungry a few hours later. I've tried the MAX bowls, but they are only 100 calories or so more and the flavors aren't nearly as good.

Super good and easy to prepare! Probably one of the best frozen meals!

This is the first of the "Proten Bowls" I have tried. I usually get the steamers. It is a little more flavorfull than the other Healthy Choice I eat. But it's not take-out from the Korean restruant, so I only give four stars. Nothing at all wrong with it. And despite there being four of five yellow peppers on the box, it's really not very spicy. You know how if you go to a Thai place they ask you 0 through 5, and 2 just about burns you up? On that scale, this would be a zero point five. Just a mild amount of spice, doesn't overwhelm the flavor at all (Note, I have 60 year old taste buds).

Little kick of spice, great flavor love the combination of tender beef and veggies.

I think this is the best tasting of the Protein (formerly Power) Bowls. The beef seems to lean and of good quality. The reason I rated it only 3 stars is because it's way too spicy hot. There's so much hot peppers in it that it burns my mouth and makes it hard to eat and enjoy. I think they should reduce the amount of hot peppers in it and maybe more people would buy it. If there are folks who prefer their food really spicy hot, they can simply add more hot peppers to it to taste.

North Korea or South Korea? Pretty big difference and, based upon my previous purchase of one of your products, I'm questioning whether or not it was even actually beef.
