Q: Does the chair lock in place when it’s pushed back?

submitted by Lgulley - 5 years ago
  • A: Absolutely hate this chair! I never leave reviews but being a first time mommy the last thing you want to do is deal with poor quality items while also recovering.

submitted byKayla - 1 year ago
  • A: Definitely doesn’t lock in place when reclined. I’m 5’7” 140 lbs and my husband is 205 lbs (and in shape), neither of us can easily keep the chair reclined without actively pushing back. I slept in the chair with our newborn the other night and wasn’t reclined hardly at all because it gradually keeps coming forward. Reached out to customer support and they said body weight was supposed to be able to keep it reclined

submitted byJO - 5 years ago
  • A: NO it does not. this chair is horrible! it will not stay reclined unless you are actively pushing against the foot rest.

    submitted bymama2two - 5 years ago
  • A: Yes it does, I weigh 153lb and it stays layed back with my Weight, my husband as well and he weighs 220lb

submitted byAK - 2 years ago
  • A: No it doesn't. I'm 260lbs, and the chair STILL doesn't lock into place for me, nor keep down unless I'm actually pushing back against it. Very disappointing for the amount of money spent.

submitted byMellie - 5 years ago
  • A: Hello, yes it locks in place.

Q: Can the foot rest be extended without reclining the chair?

submitted by Lauren - 6 years ago
  • A: I agree with Diana responds you have to push the it back to recline it tilts a little bit but it's not much you are still sitting up

submitted byAK - 2 years ago
  • A: The footrest cannot be extended without reclining the chair.

    submitted byDorel-CustomerSupport - 6 years ago
    Brand expert
  • A: Yea it sort of can because when you pull the lever to recline the footrest comes up but the back doesn’t auto recline... you really have to push back. So if you don’t put a ton of weight to push back, it won’t recline.

Q: I can't find my install manual and want to move this chair to a different floor in my house. once installed, how do you remove the back from the chair base?

submitted by Dogsrule007 - 2 years ago
  • A: Does anyone have an updated link? Says the video is unavailable. Thanks!

Q: Does the lever help to put the chair back in a sitting position?

submitted by Mom - 7 years ago
  • A: No, the lever does not assist in putting the chair back upright. You have to lean forward and use your legs to push the foot rest back down. It takes a little effort.

submitted byJessica - 5 years ago
  • A: The lever unlocks the seat frame and allow it to recline.

Q: How does this chair recline? Is there a lever or handle? I don't see one on the pictures.

submitted by Yogini - 9 years ago
  • A: No lever or handle, just push back.

submitted byMelissa - 9 years ago
  • A: There is a handle on inside of chair, as you sit, on the right side, but it is not that easy to push it forward to recline chair or to pull back, this is my one and only gripe with this chair. The manufacturer needs to improve this part of the design, the handle, to be more user friendly. The fabric is velvety smooth and soft. I have the beige one, it's color is as pictured. I like also that the back is high enough to lay your head back on, it is 25 inches from top of seat cushion to top of chair. It swivels a full 360, love this!

submitted byLP - 8 years ago
  • A: Yes there is a black lever on the inside of the chair you pull while pushing yourself back to recline.

submitted byAlyssakayj - 9 years ago

Q: I'm 5'8" will my head be supported when reclining?

submitted by KL - 9 years ago
  • A: The seat back height is about 20 inches or so- so your head should be supported

submitted byMelissa - 9 years ago
  • A: My husband is over 6 foot and fits in this chair great. He naps in it all the time

submitted byBdalton - 9 years ago
  • A: From the top of the seat cushion to the top of the back of the chair is 25 inches, not 20 inches like stated by Melissa. I have this chair and i just measured it.

submitted byLP - 8 years ago

Q: Can you see the swivel mechanism when looking at it? Does this "look like" a baby rocking chair or would it be ok in my family room? What is the difference between this and the other one that looks

submitted by MR - 9 years ago
  • A: As per the picture, the base is visible when looking at the chair in both the reclined and non-reclined positions. The chair is a gray reclining rocker- it does not need to be used in a nursery if you would prefer to place in your family room. The chair features are likely different- but there are a few that look similar so I cannot answer the question without knowing the exact chair you are referencing! Hopefully this helps!

submitted byMelissa - 9 years ago
  • A: It is a nice looking chair and would look nice in a family room.

submitted byLP - 8 years ago
  • A: You can't see it at all. I plan to move it to my living room after the nursery. It's true to picture except for seeing the swivel.

Nursery chair

Love this chair! I had fallen asleep in it while breast feeding a few times. It is wide enough to fit a boppy on it to help provide support while breastfeeding. It has lasted for 4 years! The material is soft making it warm while you sit. Couldn’t recommend it enough!

Best Nursery Chair

Going on my fourth baby with this chair. Had it for six years. Perfect width for resting my arm on the side while breastfeeding. It cleans up beautifully after spit up, throw up, blow outs. Could not recommend it more.

The chair is really comfortable, but it started squeaking pretty loudly after only 3 months of using it. Every time we rock it squeaks on both the backward and forward movement. It's not ideal when trying to get an infant to fall asleep! It's also hard to push the foot rest back in after it's extended. It takes a lot of force and is very loud.

Beautiful chair Terrible Quality

Do not purchase this chair. If I could give 0 stars I would. Chair arrived as promised, packaging was intact. Put chair together and it would not stay closed after putting footrest up first time. No matter what I do it does not stay closed unless you literally stand in front of chair and kick it. I am returning to store today.

I’ve used this chair for two babies now and quite frankly I’ve hit my limit. This chair is uncomfortable in so many different ways. The cushion is just lacking, I find myself having to continually reposition after sitting in it for 15 minutes. The arm rests feel like they’re fabric covered wood without any plushness. The chair also broke quickly and no longer stays reclined back without putting resistance on the foot rest. In order to shut the foot rest, I have to slam my entire body weight against it. I look forward to my baby getting older solely because I’ll be able to put this chair out on the street.

The chair was lopsided. and it was more apparent when the recliner was out. judging from all the torn places in the shipment box and heavy added packing tape.I would guess that it was probably dropped. It is being returned.

Recline is awful, squeaks after only 6 months of use.

Haven’t even had it for a year and it’s already extremely squeaky. The recline you have to fight to stay reclined which is really annoying. Not worth the $400 I paid for it.

This was the best investment aside from a crib for our nursery! So comfortable, we have used it every day for the past 2 years and it’s still as good as new!

meh

i’ve never been so frustrated with such a large purchase. is it comfortable, yes. swivels smoothly. when you sit in it, it leans forward rather than sits back in a relaxing way. i feel like im always going to fall out. by far the worst thing is the recline. like others said it doesn’t stay reclined back so there is no stretching out you are constantly fighting/pushing back to stay stretched out. the last thing is the foot rest doesn’t go back in easily, you’ve got to spartan kick that thing to get up which for sure wakes a sleeping baby. It’s too late for us to return at this point. i don’t think the display one was like this. I’d have chosen something else like the $170 OG glider.

Don't waste your money

Extremely loud and squeaky! The last thing you want when trying to rock your baby to sleep or settle a crying baby is a rickety squeaky chair. It also requires force to keep it reclined and it’s hard to close the footrest. Extremely disappointed in this chair for the price.

Save your money, skip this chair

0/10 recommend…This chair broke after a couple months of use. The wooden slat on the footrest came broke off. Before it broke we were still having issues too. It is extremely hard to close and you basically have to slam it shut and it’s not easy to do. It’s very loud when you’re trying not to wake a sleeping baby. Sometimes after shutting it, the next time I go to sit in it, the footrest slams upward without me even trying to recline it. I’ve had that happen a few times while the baby was asleep and he wakes up screaming from the startle as it is LOUD when that happens. I wish I could return the chair but it’s too late as it was purchased early from my registry. Save your money for something better.

Performs poorly

This chair has unfortunately been one of the most disappointing purchases. As a rocking recliner, it has two jobs—rocking and reclining—and it is horrible at both. It creaks and clicks loudly when rocking, and reclining feels like a battle, as the chair resists and pushes back uncomfortably. I would love to replace it with a different chair, but I can't justify spending money on another chair. With each baby, I’m reminded of how poorly it performs. Super unfortunate considering It was a $500 chair.

Not worth the price

I’m holding onto the chair because it was a gift, but i’d probably be annoyed at my decision if I spent my own money on it. It was very easy to assemble and it’s super comfy. But it’s so difficult to open and close. If my baby falls asleep on me while i’m sitting down, he almost always wakes up from how hard I have to push my legs down to close it or pull the lever to open it. Super frustrating and definitely not c-section friendly. I tested it in the store while pregnant and felt like it was easy enough to maneuver, but it’s a different story with a baby on your chest. I also see that price went up since I got it a couple months ago, definitely not worth it. There are dozens of other chairs in the $400-500 range that would be much better options.

Noisy and dangerous Chair

A purchase that really frustrated me because I bought it to breastfeed my first daughter, and it's already causing problems. My sister and mother have the same chair, but after a few months of use, mine started making a very annoying noise, and even the backrest fell off while my elderly mother was holding my 3-month-old baby. It's not an assembly fault because my husband assembled my mother's and sister's chairs, and that didn't happen. I called Target to have them exchange the chair, but they couldn't do anything because the exchange window had passed. Compared to Amazon's customer service, Target needs to improve a lot!
