Q: Does the chair lock in place when it’s pushed back?

A: NO it does not. this chair is horrible! it will not stay reclined unless you are actively pushing against the foot rest.

I’m 5’7” 140 lbs and my husband is 205 lbs (and in shape), neither of us can easily keep the chair reclined without actively pushing back. I slept in the chair with our newborn the other night and wasn’t reclined hardly at all because it gradually keeps coming forward. Reached out to customer support and they said body weight was supposed to be able to keep it reclined

Q: Can the foot rest be extended without reclining the chair?

A: Yea it sort of can because when you pull the lever to recline the footrest comes up but the back doesn’t auto recline... you really have to push back. So if you don’t put a ton of weight to push back, it won’t recline.

A: No, the lever does not assist in putting the chair back upright. You have to lean forward and use your legs to push the foot rest back down. It takes a little effort.

A: Yes there is a black lever on the inside of the chair you pull while pushing yourself back to recline.

submitted byMelissa - 6 years agoA: There is a handle on inside of chair, as you sit, on the right side, but it is not that easy to push it forward to recline chair or to pull back, this is my one and only gripe with this chair. The manufacturer needs to improve this part of the design, the handle, to be more user friendly. The fabric is velvety smooth and soft. I have the beige one, it's color is as pictured. I like also that the back is high enough to lay your head back on, it is 25 inches from top of seat cushion to top of chair. It swivels a full 360, love this!

A: You can't see it at all. I plan to move it to my living room after the nursery. It's true to picture except for seeing the swivel.
submitted byBdalton - 6 years agoA: As per the picture, the base is visible when looking at the chair in both the reclined and non-reclined positions. The chair is a gray reclining rocker- it does not need to be used in a nursery if you would prefer to place in your family room. The chair features are likely different- but there are a few that look similar so I cannot answer the question without knowing the exact chair you are referencing! Hopefully this helps!

Extremely disappointed. We loved this chair, until we assembled it & it broke. We were testing out the recline feature and the chair audibly cracked. We now have wood shavings on our floor and the recliner does not close. The seat is noticeably unlevel and it appears the base is faulty. We contacted customer service and were escalated to a manager who assured us they would help us replace the defective chair, but the person helping us (Rashmi) stopped responding and we have not been able to get back in contact with her for over a week. I can’t imagine this chair cracking if I were holding my newborn. The least Target can do is respond in a timely manner to incidents with such sensitivity. Our due date is a month away and new parents don’t need this kind of unnecessary stress.

Whoever designed this as nursery chair has no clue, the chair is so upright making it impossible for longer hours of breastfeeding, it’s very uncomfortable, but he recline feature is worst it won’t stay in lock position it keeps pushing you back and puts pressure on back in recline position, I wanted to enjoy motherhood and those sleepless nights of breastfeeding this just gave me nightmares, I am unable to return so stuck with it, I had c-section and this chair recline and footrest mechanism is worst for c-section people, completely stay away from this chair except rocking mechanism it’s a piece of junk

Do not buy this. It broke on me within 4 months. Right after Target’s 90 day policy and so now I am going to have to try and go through the manufacturer. The foot rest piece snapped in half.

Seems great at first and high quality but I’ve only been using it for 4 months now and the chair now squeaks so loud my baby can’t fall asleep. I obviously didn’t read the reviews before buying and now I see everyone has the same issue. I even sprayed a ton of WD40 on it and it squeaks even louder. It makes me so angry when I have a screaming baby and a screaming chair. Just save your money. Too expensive for something so cheap feeling.

Chair makes a lot of noise when you rock. Not great with a sleeping baby. The foot part is an absolute pain to close. I have to use all my lower body strength and still can’t do it without help from my husband. The chair fabric is giving in/creasing in several places and we both feel confident it isn’t going to last past 6 more months. Definitely won’t repurchase for baby number 2.

Bought this for our nursery for my second baby. At first I thought it was comfortable since I only sat in it for short periods of time (before his birth). However, once my husband I and started using it properly after he was born, we quickly realized just how terrible it is. 1) No lumbar support, which has given me such horrible back ache! 2) Creeks/ squeaks when you rock, which is so irritating 3) Makes a loud bang when you close the foot rest, which wakes up a sleeping baby! 4)The foot rest is such a pain to close, as you have to use all your leg strength to close it With my first baby we had gotten a simple glider/ rocker with the separate foot rest, which was much cheaper and didn’t give me so many problems. The only reason I gave this 2 stars is because the material is soft and the chair is lower to the ground than most other recliners, which helps if you’re short

looks good. Does not last. if you need to rock baby to toddler age it will not last. Makes tons of noise like it will fall apart any minute. Mechanics are horrible. Really disappointed and waste of money!!!

Chair is very comfortable and great for nursing, however, it is less than 3 months old and already squeaking terribly when we rock in it which then wakes my baby up. We have two of this exact same chair and they’re both squeaking already. Would not recommend if you plan to use it in a nursery!!

Cheaply made. Constantly clicks and grinds while rocking. Not relaxing at all. Actually the opposite. It wakes my baby up during feedings because it’s so noisy. Trying to put the reclining seat back is a joke. You either need to push it in with your arms or put all of your body weight into it. Needless to say, you cannot recline with your baby unless you keep the recliner seat out and have to shuffle out of the seat. Keep looking for a different chair. Don’t waste your money on this cheaply made chair.

I love this chair! After going back and forth on this due to the mixed reviews, I decided to purchase it. It is super comfortable and a good size. I would say the only down side to it is that the foot rest needs some “umph” to get it back down/to close it. Other than that, no complaints here. Happy with my purchase

Believe the bad reviews. A part of my chair broke within a day. The foot rest is impossible to get down. Now about a month into putting it to use it’s making an awful noise. Save your money.
