Q: Does this product have silica in it?
submitted by Des - 7 months ago
A: Hi there! Thank you for reaching out about our Maybelline Fit Me Loose Powder. In our formula, silica plays a very important role in achieving the finish you love. It typically appears early in our ingredient list (usually after talc and dimethicone) and is used for several key benefits: Oil Control: Silica is excellent at absorbing excess oil, which is what helps the powder keep your skin looking matte throughout the day.
Smoothing & Blurring: It helps create that "soft-focus" effect by scattering light, which minimizes the appearance of pores and fine lines Silky Texture: It provides a smooth "slip" so the powder glides onto your skin without feeling heavy or cakey.
The Fit Me Loose Powder is a mineral-based formula that is also dermatologist and allergy-tested to ensure it is suitable for various skin types, including sensitive skin. If you have any other questions about our ingredients, feel free to ask!

Q: Does it clog pores? Is it good for acne prone skin?
submitted by Mow2121 - 10 months ago
A: Hi there! Thanks for your questions about our Fit Me® Loose Finishing Powder. While the product is designed to help control shine and smooth skin's texture with a lightweight, mineral-based formula, the information available doesn't specifically mention if it's non-comedogenic or ideal for acne-prone skin. We always recommend reviewing the full ingredient list to ensure the product is suitable for your individual skin needs and consulting with a dermatologist if you have specific concerns. We hope you find your perfect Maybelline fit! XO

This product has garnered a mix of feedback, with many guests praising its lightweight feel and ability to set makeup effectively without looking cakey. The powder blends well into the skin, providing a natural finish that lasts throughout the day. However, some guests expressed concerns about the packaging, particularly its difficulty in accessing the product and the absence of a puff applicator. Overall, it remains a popular choice for those seeking an affordable setting powder.

Aged my appearance
It settled into pores and lines. Instead of helping my makeup last, it made it fail. My makeup became dried out and patchy.

easy to find your shade!
It's hard to find loose powder. This has lots of shades! Instead of foundation, I like to use a light dusting of powder, just to take the shine off of my face. I like to use loose powder, shaken into a dish, to keep the powder clean, instead of a compact that you touch with your brush everytime.

Like the coverage
I like this product however a makeup applicator would be helpful and makeup gets clogged up in tiny holes and there is no way to access the all powder , a way to open it up would be very helpful to use all the powder.

Hello Cat26! We are so glad to hear that you love the formula of our Fit Me Finishing Powder, and we truly appreciate your valuable feedback regarding the packaging. To make your application as easy as possible, we highly recommend using a fluffy powder brush or a plush makeup puff, which allows you to gently press and blend the loose powder into the skin for a beautiful, airbrushed finish. If you find that the powder is getting stuck in the sifter, giving the closed jar a firm tap on a flat surface can help loosen and redistribute the product inside. For accessing those last remnants of powder at the very bottom, you can carefully pry the plastic sifter insert loose by gently sliding a flat, clean tool, like a cosmetic spatula or a butter knife, under the edge of the rim to lift it out safely.

Bring back the previous product
Looks like I am echoing a lot of other consumers in my desire to have the old product back (Mineral Power Powder). So much better...I have no idea why they got rid of it.

Hello! Thank you for sharing your honest feedback on our Fit Me Finishing Powder. We hear you loud and clear and understand how disappointing it is when a beloved holy grail like our Mineral Power Powder is discontinued. We have passed your comments regarding your preference for the old formula directly to our team for future consideration as we are always working to improve. We hope you can find another Maybelline favorite that you absolutely love! XO

Oxidization
This oxidized on my skin horribly
1 reply from Maybelline Consumer Care team - 3 months ago
Hello Gwendalyn! We are so sorry to hear that our Fit Me Loose Powder in the shade Light oxidized and changed color on your skin. Oxidation can sometimes occur when the minerals in the powder interact with the natural oils on your skin, your moisturizer, or your foundation. To help keep your shade looking fresh and true to color all day, we suggest ensuring your moisturizer and liquid foundation are completely dry and absorbed before applying the powder, and using a fluffy brush to dust on a very minimal, light layer only where needed.

Good option if you have olive or cool-toned skin
If you have olive or cool-toned skin and struggle to find a powder that doesn't pull orange, this one works. The Fair Light shade has no orange cast, which was my main concern. It blends into the skin nicely, no chalkiness when you brush it off, and as long as you don't overdo the application, it won't cake. Coverage is medium, so it's more of a setting powder than a coverage one. Would buy again.

Twist the top
For those having trouble opening it, it’s a jar- twist the top to open. Powder is sealed with a protective seal, so it won’t go anywhere…

number 25
I have been using this for about a year. I am mixed with black and white but a little on the bright side with "billions and billions" of freckles and slight oily skin on the forehead. I often have to mix shades. I use 25, medium on it's own and sometimes with a liquid but at 39, seems liquid just brings out flaws more once you add powder onto liquid and I don’t like painting my face with a pound of makeup. It's not a perfect match but blends well. This is the best from a drug store I have tried. I agree that the packaging could be better but for this price and results, I'll deal.

Square container + round opening = poor design
I like the product however the packaging is horrible ... it's like someone sat in a room and thought a square container with a round opening was a great idea. I laugh because the designer clearly is not a user of the product because it's almost funny how near the end is the same experience, tip upside down and tap to hopefully drop more powder thru the holes.
