Avocado Ranch Chopped Salad Kit - 12.8oz - Good & Gather™

Why on earth is cilantro in this? I check carefully anything that would logically (or illogical, please don't get me started on BBQ chicken pizza) contain cilantro, as I have an intolerance. It doesn't taste like soap, it just smells and tastes awful and hurts my stomach. I had no reason to suspect cilantro would be lurking in here, and now I'm very sad. This should've been good. It's got more cabbage than the taco one (which has no cilantro, thankfully, cause the taco one is my favorite). It's mixed into the greens for no reason. AND it's in the dressing, which tastes good and hides the nasty flavor, so that's an unpleasant surprise. There's a high enough percentage of people in the world who cannot stand this plant, for the love of all that's good, put it in its own mini bag so people can add as much, or as little as they want, or just throw it away, like the subpar cheese in these kits (not the shaved parm in the Caesar though, that's my jam). Please consider isolating the unnecessary leaves, and why hurt the dressing in this way? It's simply unnecessary. Honestly, let people add their own controversial toppings. The best thing about these kits is that they're usually so customizable, but when they make you sick to eat, that puts a bit of a damper on the fun. Also, the corn is dehydrated, which is okay, but unexpected. I usually sautee frozen corn in the pan I cook chicken or steak in fur the taco one. The soft corn with the added flavor is much preferable. Unfortunately, even though somehow this dressing tastes great (how??) and there's lots of delicious cabbage, this one is clearly not for someone who dislikes cilantro, and certainly not for someone who it can make sick.

My family was surprise how much they liked the salad. Even my 5 year old liked it.

I think I will stop buying fresh vegetables from target because this salad was bad as soon as I got it and it’s not the first time

This chopped salad kit is… fine. It’s convenient, easy, and does exactly what it’s supposed to do when you want a quick side or light meal without thinking too hard. The vegetables were fresh enough, and everything was chopped in a way that made it easy to toss and eat. No major complaints there. The avocado ranch dressing is where I had mixed feelings. It’s creamy and flavorful, but it leans heavier and richer than I expected, and it kind of dominates the rest of the ingredients instead of complementing them. I also felt like the balance of toppings could be better, some bites were mostly lettuce while others got all the good stuff at once. It’s not bad by any means, just not especially memorable. I’d eat it again if it were on sale or already in my fridge, but it’s not something I’d go out of my way to repurchase. Solidly average.

Opened the bag to find a bug in the sealed package of dressing. Disappointed and disgusted!
