The best beard trimmer on the market
I purchased this beard trimmer for myself about 18 months ago. I have a short beard, 2-3mm and with the metal beard trimmer this has the best product I have used. It cuts perfectly, the incremental depth of cuts are perfect as is the long battery charge. Would definitely recommend this product for short beards and would certainly buy again if necessary.

Too Big and Bulky
Two big to really work well on an area as delicate as the face and it does not contour the neck well. Hairs also fly everywhere, not very controlled. Also no setting to get trim down to the skin as with my previous devices. Overall gets the job done I suppose.

The beard trimmer is fine. The trimmer does not fit in the supplied case with the comb allowing for 5.4 - 10mm trimming, which is an essential part of the device function. Every time I buy a Philips product I am punished for it in some way, this will be the last.

Excellent cutting blades
The cutting blades are excellent (according to the Which? review) which is why I bought it. In this respect an improvement on the BaByliss which I had before. The Babyliss was a better ergonomic design; I find the Philips slightly clumsy to use. Its getting better with practice.

Works well without additional pieces. Like the flat bottom so it sits upright. Wish the charging port was on the side, not on the bottom. Would make charging easier. Like that the charging port retains the shape as my previous Norelco shaver & trimmer (> 15 yrs old), unlike my recently purchased shaver. My previous trimmer had a vacuum feature that kept the bulk of the trimmed hair from flying everywhere. Unfortunately they stopped this frunction on this product.

This product is great, it cuts very sharp, and there is no need to have additional pieces. The only suggestion is that the case is too tight to have the additional piece, and there is no additional bag for storing the charger and the oil bottle. I had a multi-grummer, and the plastic pieces get quickly broken, it has more friction when you try to use in your body. This product is great, it cuts very sharp, and there is no need to have additional pieces. Here are some suggestions to improve the product for future versions: 1) The case is too tight to have the additional piece, and there is no additional bag for storing the charger and the oil bottle. 2) The turn on/off button should be on the opposite side, based on the natural position the trimmer is used. 3) There is a text printed in the body of the trimmer that is really hard to read 4) Include an additional piece for a longer beard, the additional one provided goes only 9 level 5) The cap (header) of the trimmer gets easily unplugged from the body, I have to put it back several times In my personal experience, multi-trimmers are not the best approach for men. For noise and ear hair it is better to use wax, for edges it is better to use a straight-edge razor. Therefore this product is the best solution for me.

I am very disappointed in the model 9000 trimmer
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The 9000 tends to throw my beard trimmings up to 18 inches in all directions, making sink and counter cleanup a burden. My previous Norelco had a vacuum feature, which captured on the order of 90+% of clippings into its easily-emptied bowl. And the clippings that did escape fell gently into the sink. Also, this new one tends to bite my skin when trimming around the lips and nose. While the 9000 does seem more like a precision instrument, I would prefer more comfort and convenience, and leave this one for the professionals.
