Q: can it support umbrella without a table for stability?
A: Yes, however, lateral movement will be better controlled on a windy day if a table were to brace the umbrella pole. Thank you.

Q: How do you install the tube? do you have to turn the base upside-down? Or does it just slide in and lock into place?

Q: What is the distance from the top of the tube, to the top of the knob? We need 1/2 inch for it to fit in crossbar hole and still turn knob.
