Q: What is the powder coating made of? Why is there a need for a powder coating over the steel?
A: Powder coating is essentially epoxy. It's polymer powder, resin, color pigments, other binding agents etc to get it to bond with metal. The purpose is to protect steel from rusting and it is more durable than paint. It will not peel off.

A: Hello, depending on type of vegetation and rooting systems, 4-6 50lbs bags of soil should provide sufficient coverage.

Q: Will I be able to add hairpin legs to this planter box, and are there pre-drilled drainage holes in the bottom? This is my second request for these questions. Thank you.
A: This Metal Raised Garden Bed features an open bottom, unfortunately adding hairpin legs is not an option.
