About the Author

Donna Barba Higuera creció esquivando remolinos de polvo en los campos petroleros del centro de California. Siempre ha sido una soñadora, constantemente mezclando experiencias de vida y folclore en sus historias. Ahora los teje en libros ilustrados y novelas. Higuera vive en el Noroeste Pacífico con su esposo, cuatro hijos, tres perros y dos ranas. ¡El Cucuy también tiene miedo! fue su primer libro ilustrado, y también es autora de las novelas de grado medio La última cuentista, ganadora de la Medalla Newbery y el Premio Pura Belpré, y Lupe Wong no baila, ganadora de un Pura Belpré Honor, el Premio Sid Fleischman de Humor y un Premio Pacific Northwest Booksellers.
