A: Hi, thank you for your question about Opill®. Opill® is only indicated for pregnancy prevention and not to stop periods. Every pill in the pack has the same dose. For Opill® to be most effective, take one tablet at the same time every day, and no later than 3 hours from the time you took your tablet the day before.

A: Not sure what you mean by reliable, but I think it's a very good brand. Switched to this brand 2 months ago and already tell a nice difference. Always take at same time every day, more info on their website. As long as you're being responsible, it's very "reliable"

A: Opill should only be used until the end of the month of the printed expiration date. We base our expiration dates on stability testing on various packaging configurations. The expiration dates are set so that all specifications are still met at the end of shelf life.

Started okay but severe health problems after a year
It’s convenient and works but use caution. My periods stopped after two months, the weight gain in a year was rapid with me not changing my diet or exercise. The scariest part is me being rushed to the ER with chest pain only to discover a blood clot in my lungs. After two months and many tests later, the doctors discovered the birth control was responsible for the clot and I was told to immediately come off of it. It’s now two weeks and I’m starting to feel better. I’ve already dropped 3 pounds and the swelling in my face is going down. I’ve been on prescription birth control for many years without issues but this one has caused so many health complications. I’d used it a temporary solution but nothing long term. Even my hematologist suggested that it’s not a long term pill.

First time for birth control.
Just finished my first month and other than some spotting and a few headaches, I’ve had no symptoms. I like how you don’t need a prescription. I do still track my cycle as well. Happy customer so far!

1.5 Year Usage Review
I started using this birth control 1.5 years ago. It took a little over 6 months before my period completely stopped. At first It made me very emotional to the point where I was crying everyday not knowing why. My acne got worse and was harder to maintain. My appetite increased like crazy which lead me to having to basically go hungry otherwise I would gain weight like crazy. After about 8 months of use my periods were coming back but coming twice a month and lasting anywhere between 8 to 12 days each, so I would be bleeding for almost the whole month! My periods were terrible, cramps everyday even when I wasn't bleeding and even being off of it I feel as if someone is twisting my insides. My flow would be so heavy I'd be light headed and couldn't do much some days. The blood clots were and still are present and almost the size of a quarter. I'm just now getting off of the pill in hopes that my periods will regulate again and hopefully soon. I've been reading that some women are having to wait months to YEARS for their bodies to go back to normal after this and some women are still experiencing bad symptoms even after with no change in sight. I understand that this type of contraceptive is supposed to be POP and increase cervical mucus, but I feel there is a lack of full understanding on which this product does to women not only in the short term but the long term. I most definitely would not recommend taking this form of contraception unless it's your only available option.

Body Changes
Hey Ladies! I’ve been on this pill for about 6 months now and today I decided to discontinue. It was working great up until last month where my period came on twice! And the second one that came on had been on for two weeks now! I’m honestly woke up this morning scared out of my mind because this isn’t normal for me. But after reading the reviews I realized I am not the only one experiencing this, which makes me feel better. But I’m sad because I definitely liked the convenience of grabbing it and going on about my day without having to sit in anyone’s waiting room. But I have to do what’s best for my body, so good luck ladies! I hope this review helps someone as all the reviews helped me!

Slowly feeling like myself again
I started taking Opill in June 2025 due to changing jobs and losing my current insurance. It was supposed to be a temporary fix. I took it for approximately 5 months and my goodness- I legitimately felt insane. My whole body felt off. I experienced multiple periods a month, and hormonal changes like no other. I genuinely thought something was seriously wrong with me. I recently decided to read the reviews of this product and realized I wasn’t alone. I have been off of Opill for about 1 week now and the noticeable difference is crazy! I am starting to feel like myself again! I would say this could totally be a one-off situation, but being that MULTIPLE women have experienced similar symptoms sort of tells me otherwise. In short, great product if you’re in a pinch, but I highly suggest against long-term usage.

Works as Expected
I've been taking this product for about a year now. It works well, the side effects that I have experienced have been irregular. Some months I'll have two periods (has occurred 3 times). The only other side effect I have had has been soreness in my chest, but that is irregular too.

Tried this birth control for 4 months and everything was fine at first but I noticed my periods were coming later and lasting much longer than normal, and then I got a second period in a month, along with a severe headache that would not let up, leading me to stop taking it. Hey but not all bad things, I’m not pregnant lol

DONT TAKE THIS TOXIC GARBAGE
Gave me the WORST post-birth control syndrome hormonal acne I’ve ever had in my life after going off of it. it’s now been a YEAR. A YEAR. and I’m still struggling with severe cystic acne with no solution in sight I’ve tried everything tretenoin, spirnolactone everything. DONT TAKE THIS TOXIC GARBAGE. Also it made my periods so incredibly irregular and they are just now starting to become semi normal. But now every period I have is different. Either so heavy and terrible cramps or like I didn’t even have one at all. I also experienced severe weight gain after. Additionally I am just now finally fixing the stubborn BV that it gave me after many many antibiotics.

Effective but the periods are awful!
I’ve been on opill for three months now. My first birth control I’ve used. I’ve never had a regular period and fully expected it to be even less regular with taking opill. The worst part about this birth control is the periods! I’ve been on my period more often than not since starting opill and they’ve been longer and heavier than my typical period. Although I haven’t experienced any other side effects, this one is not fun. Other than the periods, the product is good and effective.

Bleeding
It's effective enough for an otc birth control, I'm almost done with my fist month and have had 3 different periods so far, definitely lighter than my normal periods but 3 times in less than a month so far? I'll give it my 90 day box and if something hasn't changed by then I won't be buying anymore.

I’m using it since two months. The first month went well however, I started bleeding a week after my period in second month and it’s on and off so basically I’m bleeding since 10 days and I decided to stop using it but not sure if the bleeding will stop. I don’t recommend this.

Horrible first birth control
I've been on opill for a YEAR. A YEAR. And I'm still bleeding for almost two weeks. It'll show signs of stopping and nothing will come out and then boom. Blood all over everything. Had horrible weight gain and horrible acne. I'm very emotional to the point my boyfriend thinks I'm bipolar. I'm always hungry and I can't seem to quit eating due the increase of the appetite it gave me. My stomach always hurts now and I'm super sensitive to foods now, like dairy products. I'm either constipated or having serious diarrhea. I'm always bloated, there's never a break with the birth control. I cannot wait to switch. Do not recommend.

been using this for 6 months after stopping my old birth control (the repo every three months) and it does exactly as one hopes. The only side effect I have had is that I only get my period every other month now. Guess I am one of the lucky ones.
