Y mientras espera, intenta recordar. Y recuerda que un día apareció la chica, que vino a cuidar de la casa y de ella, y cuya juventud pareció la cura de toda la soledad. Sus ojos, sus orejas, su pelo. Y una discusión. Ahora la chica ya no está y Olvido sobrevive sin comida ni compañía ni apenas recuerdos. Pero no queda mucho para que las hormigas empiecen a escarbar otro hormiguero.

With only two characters, both women, and a story set entirely within four walls, poet Júlia Peró's narrative debut is about a seldom discussed reality: The plight of older adults who live alone and resent their current situations. An uncomfortable, tender and evocative novel that both fascinates and repulses, holding up a mirror to the most basic of human insecurities.

About the Author

Júlia Peró (Barcelona, 1995) es escritora y artista multidisciplinar. Dirige el club de lectura Libros crujientes. Ha participado en distintas antologías poéticas y es autora del poemario Anatomía de una bañera (Planeta, 2020) y el libro de conversaciones Este mensaje fue eliminado (Planeta, 2021), que adapta al formato físico su proyecto digital @este.mensaje.fue.eliminado. Olor a hormiga es su primera novela. Actualmente trabaja en su segundo poemario y en una colección de arte conceptual.
