I like the size of the pot, the non-stick surface, the lid with drain, the pouring spouts on opposite sides on the pot, the shape of the pot and lid handles. In my opinion, the design and thought that went into this line of Calphalon pots and the attention to detail was truly exceptional.

We replace our 7 qt. every 20 years.
We wore out our original 7 qt. Innumerable batches of chile, spaghetti, red beans. This replacement looks to be even better than the original.

I used to spot on Sunday to make mashed potatoes I was able to rinse, cook and drain my potatoes using this pot. the lid fit nice and snug easy to turn for the drain/ steam spout. Eventually I will use it as a dutch oven.

My 10 year old pot is pretty worn on the inside but still better than this new cheap thin version. The pour spouts on the sides let all the steam escape long before the cooking is finished, you must keep an eye on it so you can fill it with more liquid to keep everything in the pot going into the trash can.
