That's an excellent question, and it gets to the heart of what a "smart TV" is all about. You do not need a separate Roku subscription or to pay for any service from Roku to make the TV work. The TV's primary function is to be a TV, and it can work perfectly well with your existing services. Here's how it works with your Xfinity service: You don't need a Roku subscription: The Roku operating system (OS) is built into the TV, and it's free to use. You only pay for the individual streaming services you subscribe to (like Netflix, Hulu, etc.), or for movie rentals and purchases. Use the Xfinity Stream app: Since you have Xfinity, you can download the Xfinity Stream app from the Roku Channel Store directly onto your TV. Once you log in with your Xfinity credentials, you'll be able to watch all of the live TV and on-demand content that is part of your Xfinity TV package, without needing a separate cable box for that TV. This is a big benefit, as it can save you money on equipment rental fees. Q: Can I hook up a player with a S video cable?
