When they groom, that protein gets transferred onto their hair and skin, and that’s what ends up on the dander people react to. LiveClear doesn’t change how much dander a cat has. Instead, the formula is shown to reduce the amount of active Fel d 1 allergen on the hair and dander by using a specific protein that safely neutralizes it. Why does this premium allergen reducing cat food c

I genuinely do not understand why Purina made an allergen-reducing cat food specifically targeted toward allergy-conscious households… and then still included wheat in the formula. The SCIENCE behind LiveClear is actually incredibly interesting and innovative. Reducing active Fel d 1 allergens through food is a genuinely smart idea, and clearly a lot of research went into it. But then I turned the bag over and saw wheat in the ingredients. Cats do not nutritionally require gluten or wheat. Grain-free cat foods already exist at much lower price points than this product. Meanwhile, LiveClear is sold at a premium price specifically to people who are disproportionately likely to care about allergens, sensitivities, asthma, celiac disease, eczema, cross-contact, etc. So from a consumer perspective this feels like a bizarre disconnect: You solved the advanced biotechnology problem, but not the obvious formulation problem. I am not saying every cat owner needs grain-free food. I am saying it makes very little sense for an “allergen-reducing” specialty product to still contain one of the most common human dietary allergens when there are already countless wheat-free formulas on the market. The frustrating part is that this feels SO close to being an incredible product for allergy-sensitive households. Please make a wheat-free / gluten-free LiveClear formula. There is clearly a market for it.

Best cat food

We've noticed a big difference in his fur, he doesn't shed as much. Also not scratching or bitting on his skin. Big improvement, I had someone at the pet store recommended this food for him, when I mentioned hair loss on his skin and the said it was probably allergies.
