Needs a recipe change
I use 1/2 cup milk for all oatmeal brands.... this ends up being way too much (even compared to their non-protein oatmeal). Taste-wise... reminds me of grass. I thought I'd like this but no. I do appreciate them not using whey protein though.

Weird texture, nothing like others in this brand
Taste is ok but consistency is not like regular oatmeal and is very gluey and too ground up. Not nice whole oats texture. Feels processed and weird. Never really gets cooked solid

Maple cinnamon roll protein oatmeal
Kept trying to cook these - added almond milk and ended up microwaving after trying them and the oats just won’t cook . Returning them .

For an instant oatmeal this one seems to offer a bit more sustenance than the others. After following the directions the oatmeal needed to cook longer to taste like it was done. My kids did not care for it, but I will eat if I'm in a pinch. This would not be my first option for oatmeal though.

Not as good as Elizabeth's Ganola
Like most of Elizabeth products because of the great taste. However, the Maple Cinnamon Roll Protein Oatmeal is not the same quality. Definitely required more real Cinnamon for my taste. The texture was thinner than other brands. Yes, oatmeal does get thicker when heated in microwave after stirring in hot water. (read in another comment) I would rather make my own gluten free oatmeal and save my money.

i am a big enjoyer of instant oatmeal, so i was excited to try this one. upon first impression, it smells great - just like a cinnamon roll. the oats are a little thicker than other instant oatmeals, so it requires a little more effort to cook. i tried just the hot water method at first but didn’t feel like it cooked enough, so i ended up microwaving it. they are somewhat bland and have that protein aftertaste, so i would doctor up with some brown sugar. i will continue to eat these, but will add more ingredients to make it more flavorful and satisfying.

I’m shocked anyone recommended this. I love oatmeal and have tried all the other protein oatmeal options. This one doesn’t taste right and isn’t the consistency of normal oatmeal.

Just ok
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I don’t know how to feel about the texture of these oats. It has a very thick consistency which i kind of expected because it does contain protein but, I just didn’t like it. I noticed after pairing it with some fruit it was ok and i forgot about the texture. I usually have this everyday after a workout which does help with my protein goal.

Decent not Great
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This oatmeal smells good and looks good, but I found the overall taste experience to be less than satisfying. The texture is somewhat gritty which is immediately off-putting. The taste is cinnamony-bland, but to be expected with the small amount of sugar it contains. The smell is nice though!

Added protein is a plus
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As an oatmeal lover, I'm always looking for a new brand to try.I've been working to increase my protein intake so this was right on time. A little bit sweeter than I'd prefer but overall i give it a 3/5

A no for me
As much as I LOVE Purely Elizabeth Oatmeal and was excited about these protein oats, this one is a miss. The flavor is good, texture is thick bc of the protein (which is expected), but what I can’t get over is how no matter how long I cooked them and how much liquid I added the oats never got soft and tender. I’m not sure if it’s because they’re gluten free oats or not, but these oats are a hard no for me. If I didn’t throw away the box, I would return them to the store…The hard and chewy texture is that bad.

2nd impression better than 1st
Truthfully, I'm on the fence about this oatmeal (this review is also on the Apple Harvest Crumble) It tasted kind of "chalky" that left a film in my mouth. Maybe it's because I used almond milk and a microwave to prepare it. Maybe it would do better cooking it with water. I do appreciate the ingredients though. Organic, Plant-based protein, gluten-free, no artificial flavors, gluten-free, organic oats, buckwheat & quinoa, vegan, made with 100% whole grains. I'm going to give it another shot, and use water with just a splash of Almond or Coconut milk to prepare it. All in all, I'm not writing this one off yet. Might work better prepared as overnight oats. I'm also going to try adding it to my blended protein shakes. NOTE: I prepared it using water only, and let it steep alot longer, I mean alot!! Added a splash of vanilla almond milk, then re-heated again (about 45 sec) because it cooled down too much for my liking. Definitely less chalky. Bumping up from 3 to 4 stars. But take note, I'm used to pea protein (in my meals) so that may be where the "chalkiness" lies. I've become pretty tolerant to it.

The flavor was okay but the texture really needed some help. It’s almost like a gel consistency? And it tastes *very* healthy. Glad I tried it but won’t be trying it again.
