Educational Insights Playfoam Sand Sensory Spheres

Both of my kids absolutely love this!! We have some other playfoam sand but they were fighting over who was going to use this first. My youngest has a hard time controlling her big feelings at times so I knew this would be perfect for her to calm down and relax! She loves to roll the balls over and over again and then use the blue ball to smooth the sand again. There is an activity guide that has some breathing exercises and how to relax and practice mindfulness. This is such an amazing product for sensory play that includes mindfulness activities as well. I also love how there is a lid so clean up is so easy and there are 3 spots on the lid for the balls too. This is a product for kids and adults of all ages!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was so amazing to open and assemble! I never knew something like this even existed. It's so colorful and inviting. The "sand" has the most unique texture! It's like nothing I've ever felt. It's so smooth and leaves no residue on your hands whatsoever; no gritty sandy pieces, no sticky, nothing. My hands feel smooth. The consistency is so strange. It's almost like it's cotton when you break pieces off. I'm very impressed with this sand. I liked rolling the textured spheres around but one thing bugged me so much! This set needs different sized spheres because when rolling along the edges the way the tray is constructed and the size of the spheres cannot get into the sand all around the edges and my autistic brain hates that part. And I think it needs double the sand because it gets a little thin once it's all spread out to the edges. But this was so fun to test out! It's great also because our cats can't dump this all over the place like regular zen gardens get dumped easily. I recommend this most definitely and it would make a really good gift to give even an adult.

It's definitely not a toy to keep her entertained for too long. She'll play with it for about ten minutes then she's bored with it. She definitely likes it, but wish there was more to it.

Unfortunately, my little one lost interest quickly despite my best efforts, played with the kinetic sand for a moment with his dinosaurs, but has been difficult to get him to use it since.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband and I put the Playfoam Sensory Spheres in our children's safe place in our home. We taught them to use the spheres to calm themselves down when they were angry or sad, and it's helped a lot.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Playfoam Sand Sensory Sphere keeps my kids busy and entertained especially my kid who is Autistic. I like that this product is convenient to take places and easy to store because of the lid. However it does get a little messy if unsupervised while playing with the sand and the balls can get lost because they aren't secured like the sand is. But overall I would recommend this as a gift

Personally, I found the Playfoam hard to work with as an adult and that it didn't come with quite enough. My child was unable to push the spheres down hard enough to make the lines or squiggles. I also think It would have been better the have the lid and plate opposite designs with the plate flatter and the lid more like a bowl that could attach to the plate. I would have the bowl part be big enough to hold the spheres instead of setting them on top. We will definitely lose them with the current design.

This is such a fun product; both my children (ages 11and 6) have enjoyed it. The sensory spheres allow you to make designs in the sand - which is quite enjoyable and calming. The playfoam is also mess free, unlike most kinetic sand we've used in the past.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a Playfoam Sensory Spheres set in exchange for my honest review. I like that it seems to be durable and has everything included to get it ready for use. It has 3 different balls. Two are textured and the other is regular. When I saw the Playfoam I was concerned that there wouldn't be enough to fill the container, but once it is squished down, it completely covers the bottom. It comes in a resealable plastic bag for easy storage. The one thing I didn't like as much was the fact that the balls can't be stored inside the container. There are little spots on the top that they can rest in, but I'd prefer to be able to store it sideways to save space. My younger children (6 and almost 4) enjoyed playing with this and seeing the different textures made when they rolled the ball around in the Playfoam. I could definitely see how this could be used in a classroom setting for a calm-down area, but it is also useful at home.

She spends about 15 to 30 minutes playing with it, which is a long time to young ones. She is more talkative about her day as she uses it which is GREAT!
