Q: Why is this product advertised on the box and in the name as “unscented, clumping litter” but when I clicked on the specifications for this product, it says “scented, non-clumping” litter? That’s the exact opposite. Someone messed up here.

    Clumps stay hard, no noticeable smell, and doesn’t stick to the litter box so it stays cleaner longer. Doesn’t track as much compared to another clay litter I’ve tried. Still a little dusty. Also not COMPLETELY unscented, I noticed small amounts of fragrance and even blue specs of litter so maybe it’s cross contaminated at the factory idk but the scent isn’t strong enough to where it’s bothering my cats.

    No longer unscented

    They changed this from unscented to a perfume smell. Been using this litter forever but they added a new floral scent. Change it back to unscented!!

    Keeps odor down but still have clouds of dust

    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m always a fan of unscented cat litter. The Fresh Step simply unscented is comparable to others I have tried. It seems to keep odors down especially compared to scented cat litter. It also seems to keep clumps together well. There is still clouds of dust that produces when moving the litter around. Another downside is just how heavy the litter container can be.

    REFORMULATED - no longer unscented and turns box into a sludgy mess

    I've been using this litter for at least a decade and sometime in the last year, the formula changed dramatically. It now has a strong chemical fake floral scent, but the worst part is that it is extremely dusty and when my cat pees in it, it does not clump at all, rather turns into a pool of urine and a sludgy mess that gets stuck on her paws and is tracked all over the house. Because it absorbs nothing, it also does not do anything for masking the smell. Absolutely worthless and unusable. I contacted Fresh Step and they outright lied, stating that there were no changes. No idea why they would do this. Clearly no one is going to continue using this stuff. I'm in the midst of trying a bunch of other brands to find something that actually works.

    No bad smells

    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was in the laundry room doing laundry, the same room as the cat box, my kitty went poo and I didn’t even notice she had used the cat box until the auto-roll activated. I didn’t smell the poo at all, and there is also no harsh scent of perfumes. Win-win, definitely recommend, and I will be purchasing in the future.

    Misleading Marketing

    The original fresh step seems to have been discontinued for this version. It says unscented but it is not - there is a strong scent to it. Would not recommend if you are looking for unscented
