A: Total amount will vary depending on individual potting/planting needs. Tomatoes, for example will require more dirt as their roots grow long and deep. It's best to consult local nursery or garden retailer for proper requirements. On average 4-5 50lbs bags should be adequate.

Nice planter but unlike the smaller version this one doesn’t come with caps for the legs or a liner, so the dirt falls out. Manufacturer sent me back to Target for replacement parts but no online option to deal with this. Why Best Choice Products won’t send the parts is beyond me…the thing is useless without the liner. It’s fully assembled now too, so returning it isn’t an option. Too expensive to have this poor level of customer service. Not happy…

Quality is very cheaply made with very poor quality wood. Wood splintered already on end piece. Doesn't fit together properly. The bottom panels don't fit in slots properly. Haven't even put the dirt in yet. But the corners don't line up, so going to have to put some sort of blocking cloth in to hold dirt from falling out of corners. It looks nice so far. Going to put waterproofing sealant on in hopes of making it last longer. It did arrive in one piece and the instructions were OK.
