About the Author
Tina Cho is an elementary school teacher with a master's degree in education from Drake University and a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Faith Baptist Bible College. She is the author of many books for young readers, including Rice from Heaven, My Breakfast with Jesus, and The Ocean Calls. Marta Álvarez Miguéns is a children's book illustrator based in Spain. She won the Blue Spruce, Chickadee, and Beehive awards for illustrating Shark Lady: The Story of How Eugenie Clark Became the Ocean's Most Fearless Scientist. My daughter's class is studying astronomy this year, so I was excited to read to her this wonderful new picture book, God's Little Astronomer, by Tina Cho that encourages children to explore the solar system. Each spread includes a Bible verse about God's creation and additional interesting facts about the universe for children who want to dive deeper beyond the simpler main text that is suited for younger children. This book is unique because it connects the attributes of God to affirmations for children, and how we can observe in creation reflections of God's care for them. The bold text helps highlight these main points and themes on each page. I like how the illustrations feature diverse children. The book is beautifully illustrated by artist Marta Álvarez Miguéns with colorful scenes and engaging illustrations. I enjoyed the format of this book so much that I purchased a copy to give to my daughter's science teacher. A great book to introduce the solar system to the little explorers in your family! I want to thank the publisher, Waterbrook Multnomah for an advanced reader copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
