This was one of the beat Bond movies when released and has stood the test of time. Unlike most Bond movies, it relies on a good script and good acting, not gadgets nor special effects. Okay, the starting sequence of killing Blofeld was totally stupid and unnecessary, but the ensuing song sung by Sheen Easton in her prime more than makes up for that inane waste of film. The music throughout is usually always good in a Bond film, but there is a chase sequence involving a ski long jump and snow motorcycles which has perhaps some of the finest background music in any film, ever. It does get synthesizery, but what do you expect for the time? A GLARING flaw...the snow motorcycles (enduros) have turn signals which rotate 180 degrees and become machine guns. Um, er...how...where...why...who...I think we'll need Neil deGrasse Tyson to explain the physics behind these 3 inch long machine guns, how everything fits in that amount of space, including unlimited ammunition. The Lotus anti-theft system seems a bit extreme as well if not implausible, much less impossible to get through customs. Lastly, though not unbelievable, what happens to Melina's yellow car would mean she hopefully bought the extra insurance if it was a rental. Just sayin'. My last word. I work as the department manager of candy at a major retailer and think of this movie at least twice a week as I see the box labels while stocking candy. You see, Brach's Candy was bought by Ferrara. The name of Bond's contact in Italy. "Ferrara? Bond? Luigi. James."
