Q: If I bought this would I be able to stain it a darker brown?

A: It has a stain sealant on it so you will have to sand it a little for the new stain to absorb.

Q: What size tree is this for? I’m so confused why it’s only 10”, but the picture makes it look like a normal size collar as the tree is as tall as the staircase. I want to buy this but I need to know if it’s really small. Thanks!

A: I purchased this yesterday, the collar is just under 11" in height and it the tag on it states it is 28" in diameter. Hope this info helps.

It arrived broken (I.e., the hinge and screws were not on). However this product is well made and stunning. My husband found screws to put the fixture back on and you’d never know! Aside from the screws being to short I’m keeping it!
