Q: I know you stated that the dishes are microwave safe, but does the handle on the mug get too hot to touch coming out of the microwave?

A: 30 Seconds should heat up coffee or tea, the handle will not get hot. Up to 1 minute should be warm, anything more than a minute could make it too hot to handle depending on your microwave and depending how much or how little hear can be tolerated.

Q: Is the color on the edge of dishes a Gold or Copper color?? I cannot tell by the pictures

A: Hi TSmith. I would describe it more as a metallic brown. It's not yellow enough to be gold and it's not orange enough to be copper. It's a darker shade so I believe metallic brown best describes it.

Elama Dishes
I bought these dishes for my son for Christmas. They are unsafe. My son cooked a steak, let it rest for 10 minutes and placed it on the plate. The plate broke and dust went all over his kitchen. On the second plate, it did not break but you could see exactly where the steak and a jalapeno popper sat on the plate! I tried to get Elama to correct this gift with a substitute and they basically told me "too bad". Dishes that can't have food on them is not worth having!!!

Beautiful, classy plate set. I’m so excited to finally use these after having them packed away for the last few months unopened. Just as I pictured them to be. I am satisfied. Although one bowl came broken. They are dishwasher safe, however, they golden linings around the rims of the bowl do get heat damage to them. I would hand wash these only.

Gold fades over time
Loved the plates at first but I purchased them because they are dishwasher and microwave safe but after a short time of using them, the gold rim is starting to chip away and looks like crap. All of these other reviews must’ve been left after just starting to use them. These plates don’t even last 6 months.

Some imperfections
These dishes are beautiful. I love the color variation in the plates and the gold rims. They are very elegant looking. There are some imperfections on one large plate and two small plates that the gold rim isn’t perfect which is disappointing but otherwise they are great.

Great set overall!
This dinnerware set is great! They’ve been put through the dish washer as well as in the microwave, and I have had no problems. They are true to the color seen in the photos and are very pretty. There are some slight imperfections with the glaze on a couple of them which I’m sure could be resolved easily, however I don’t mind - I think it gives them some character. Overall very happy with my purchase.

Bought 2 sets of these dinnerware sets and am very impressed with the color. Love that they are dishwasher and microwave safe but haven’t tested them out yet in the microwave. Only downfall was a plate had a minor surface crack upon arrival but the company is shipping out a replacement for me for the one that came damaged.

So pretty and unique
I LOVE my new dinnerware. The color and their appearance is even better in person! One of the plates had a small mark on it but Elama (who makes these beautiful plates) had a card in the shipping box with a note to contact them if there were any issues. They were able to replace that one plate for me no problem. SO happy with my new set of dinnerware!

Very beautiful set of dishes. The metallic rim looks elegant and steps up the overall look. Some of the metallic edges aren't perfect, but it doesn't bother me. Seem to be good quality in terms of material. Washed fine in the dishwasher. Time will tell if they are scratch easily, but so far no issues!

Beautiful Set of Dishes. Lovely colors with gold accents. We thought the that bowls would be short and wide, but they are more like rice bowls. One of the bowls is starting to split/separate along the rim and a couple have chipped after 3 months of use.
