Q: I understand the room darkening.....do these also provide some sort of blocking from the outside in? I recently moved to a street level apt and I don't want everyone to be able to look into my space if the curtains are closed.

A: The curtains came in today and I was really disappointed. It's got black out curtains and not thermal as advertised. There is actually a difference between the two. I guess I'll be making a return.

submitted byAlec - 2 years agoTarget staff supportA: Use math to figure it out. Since the pocket is 3", we can assume the circumference when it is opened up would be 6" max. Since the formula for the circumference of a circle is C=pi*d (3.14 * diameter), then the diameter you are seeking is the circumference divided by 3.14, or 6" / 3.14. So, the largest diameter of a rod that would fit is 1.9". 2" would be too big, anything less would fit fine.

I think the quality of the curtains are good but I had a very hard time ironing the wrinkles out of the material. They look and hang nicely and they do make the room dark. I just have to figure out how to get the curtains very close together in the middle so the sun doesn't peek through the cracks.....

These curtains are amazing! They were super high quality for such a cheap price. They're stylish and elegant. They are thick and do just the trick! They were a bit long for what I needed but I cut them into the right size and you can't even tell! Minimal light comes through any space that isn't covered but it blacks out my room which allows me to have a good night's sleep.

Truly black out curtains which is great. However, I got the white and they look more grey and slightly shiny. They look poor quality. Additionally, the style how they attach to the rod combined with the stiffness makes them incredibly difficult to open the curtains.

Great curtains for the price. The color is a pretty muted blush (hard to tell in the picture). When opening them, be sure to pull them apart super slow. The inner material sticks together and could create a tiny hole if not. I wish somebody had told me that before I opened mine, as I put a hole in one. I am still pleased with the overall product for my daughter’s bedroom. They are not complete blackout shades, but they do a nice job when closed blocking the sun (in a very sunny room).

NOT RECOMMENDED - they stick together and become ruined! This happened in general when moving the curtains to one side of the window and even worse when needing to wash despite following the directions on the curtains themselves.
