In this picture the shade looks black. That is what I was looking for. The shade is silver. I was shocked when I opened it up. Had to take it back. It is a very nice heavy lamp but just wasn’t the color of the picture.

Love these lamps. They're a nice height and don't take up too much room on our small nightstands. The switch is on the bulb socket area. I like the metal shades as they're easier to clean the dust off of.

Shade was not even around edges. Light bulbs sit too high in the socket. The hue series of bulbs stop short of poking through the top. Also not sure what chemicals are used to coat this but they buble and flake on the surface.

This is a beautiful lamp - well made, love the metal shade and it looks very classy and expensive. However, with 40 watt max lightbulb and the metal shade, it’s doesn’t really give off any usable light. I had it next to a bed and there isn’t even enough light for reading. Would work if you just use the lamp for decorative purposes or to add ambiance maybe, but it is very dim.

I ordered three lamps. I'm certain I ordered them with the black shade, but they all came with the silver shade. The attachment on one of the shades that connects to the round part was broken out of the box. We made do.
