8"x10" Float Thin Metal Gallery Wall Frame Brass - Threshold™

A: I received 4 of these and there isn’t no mat. I’m confused. Is there or isn’t there not supposed to be a mat inside the 8 x 10 frame that will display a 5 x 7 photo? The photos and the “highlights” and your comment above describe a mat. But no mat in my order and clearly others are having the same issue.

A: Eileen, there is actually no mat; the frame is 8x10 and "floats" pictures that are 5x7 (or smaller). By floating, I mean that there is the front piece of glass and then a thinner piece of clear plastic for the back and the picture "floats" in the frame. You can see the wall through it. It's a great frame but no mat.

A: Hi Barb, to remove the float frame insert, first press the insert tabs inward toward the center of the frame and lift them up to unlock the insert. Next, lift the insert and pull it away from the frame. To add your image, lift the back sheet of styrene and place your artwork between the styrene and the front pane of glass (may require small piece of tape to hold image). To reinstall the insert, first position the long tabs under the frame channel and then lower the insert into place. Once it is aligned, press in all of the locking tabs to secure the insert firmly. A: I have no idea what the hardware is for or how to use it but the plastic rectangular piece that snaps into the back of the frame has two little sawtooth shaped portions that you can use to hang the frame on your wall. The hardware is some kind of distraction.

Basically, there are long tabs on one side of the back frame that you slide in and simply press the other side down so it is securely in place. Enjoy! - Matt
