This 8 piece set was on sale for nearly $1,000. For that price, I thought I couldn’t go wrong and I would return it if I didn’t like it. Well, returning this set was an impossible task, seeing as though “original packaging” was required. It was necessary to open each of the 4 PACKED boxes and unwrap almost everything, just so that I could locate the materials needed to assemble one piece. Next, assembly time for one piece took about an hour. The instructions insist we use the tools provided, screw only 50%, complete assembly, then tighten all screws. Very time consuming! After 2 evenings/6.5 hours, i managed to assemble 5 out of the 8 pieces. (And after 3 hours, I started using a ratcheting tool with an Allen wrench bit. My fingers needed a break!) My husband, who also used a ratcheting tool, has invested another 2 hours into the swivel chairs. They are not yet complete! The worst part … the smell! Words can’t describe it. The smell is coming from the plastic wicker. I have SCRUBBED each piece with Dawn power spray, and I’ve sprayed almost 1/3 of a bottle of Fbreeze on the set… it’s still terrible. It almost makes you nauseous. My daughter won’t sit on the furniture, she claims it gives her a headache. Keep in mind, the set has been outside on our screened patio for 6 days… even fresh air doesn’t help the smell disappear. I should have known it wasn’t going to work as soon as I opened one box. The smell was awful, the cushions were cheap, and the shear amount of work required is NOT worth it. The set has 237 washers… if you put furniture together, you know what that means! That’s hundreds of screws.
