Book Synopsis
The best Christmas gifts--family, friendship and second chances--are all waiting to be unwrapped in this sparkling new novel from USA TODAY bestselling author Sheila Roberts. Single mom Lexie Bell hopes to make this first Christmas in their new home special for her six-year-old son, Brock. Festive lights and homemade fudge, check. Friendly neighbors? Uh, no. The reclusive widower next door is more grinchy than nice. But maybe he just needs a reminder of what matters most. At least sharing some holiday cheer with him will distract her from her own lack of romance... Stanley Mann lost his Christmas spirit when he lost his wife and he sees no point in looking for it. Until she shows up in his dreams and informs him it's time to ditch his scroogey attitude. Stanley digs in his heels, but she's determined to haunt him until he wakes up and rediscovers the joys of the season. He can start by being a little more neighborly to the single mom next door. In spite of his protests, he's soon making snowmen and decorating Christmas trees. How will it all end? Merrily, of course. A certain Christmas ghost is going to make sure of that!Review Quotes
"A tender story guaranteed to warm your heart this holiday season. When I read anything from Sheila Roberts, I know I will laugh, cry and close the book with a happy sigh." --RaeAnne Thayne "Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without a Sheila Roberts story. This can't-miss author has a singular talent for touching the heart and the funnybone. She deals with the things that matter to us all--loss and love, faith and family, redemption and renewal--and ties them up with a holiday bow. Once again, Sheila Roberts gifts us with a heartwarming confection that's as sweet as a sugarplum, and as deeply moving as snowfall." --Susan Wiggs

Wonderful holiday book!
5 out of 5 stars

This is another enjoyable holiday read by the talented writer, Sheila Roberts. I look forward to each and every book release by her (holiday and otherwise!). The particular book is entertaining and fun, while touching on some serious subjects. The main characters have been through quite a bit and are adjusting to new ways of living. Stanley is a grumpy and grieving widower who is isolating, despite the death of his wife a few years prior. Lexie is a single mom with a cute little boy who is looking for a grandfather figure in his life. He "adopts" Stanley, despite Stanley's gruff rejection of this idea. The little boy is persistent and sweet. I won't share what happens, but there are some Dickens-esque qualities to this story -- which make this a truly unique and fun read. I highly recommend this book! If you haven't read Sheila's other holiday books, you should check them out, too. ENJOY!

What a wonderful early start to the holidays! This book was so fun to read. The Characters are amazing! Stanley the cantankerous old man who is like Ebenezer Scrooge and he is befriended by Lexie the next door neighbor and her son. The dynamics between them is pure magic and will warm the Scroogiest of hearts. This book is written by a wonderful author and she has outdone herself with this book.
