Pintrest blog not book
Book looked to be more information than it actually was, it was more a Pinterest read than a helpful tool. Also a lot of mentioning of her religion with no mention of it anywhere on the cover, we are not religious so the last two chapters were not even worth reading for me. Nice tips here and there but could just be found online on any self help blog.

A perfect way to start 2018
First off, this book is beautiful. But more than that, Emily takes you through, step by step, how to simplify and make space for the things in your life that matter most. It starts with your physical surroundings and your “stuff”, but it’s more than just that. She offers wisdom and practical steps, and she also gives space for you to process why you’re doing this and what your goals are (literally, it’s like a workbook in some pages). I’ve always been scattered and messy, but this book is changing what I believe about myself and helping me become who I have always wanted to be. Thanks Emily!

Basic, very short (mostly photographs and LARGE font)
I really wanted to like this book, but was so disappointed after reading it for a couple reasons: 1) It's basic. If my life was a disastrous mess and I was on the verge of being a hoarder, then yes, this has some ideals to shift my thinking. But as a working mom who has it mostly together, this was just a waste. The only "tip" I got and used was to put my kids' socks in a different spot (by their shoes). And I agree with other reviews - she never addresses how to deal with a traditional job. I cannot just "step back" from my work hours to make my life more whole. 2) The font - did anyone else notice this? IT'S HUGE! If you put this book in a smaller font, it would likely be a pamphlet...between the font and the photos. It felt misleading to me - to get this thick book that was supposed to be full of knowledge, yet each chapter was merely a few paragraphs in a large font with 8 full-page photos or quotes included. I felt like it was Emily's family photo album more so than a book.

Oh how I wish I could give Emily Ley a hug! This book is exactly what my overwhelmed mama heart needed. She gives practical tools that help you declutter your home and ultimately your life. She teaches you that a slowed down, joy filled life is possible. Loved it so much I’ve bought copies for all my best girlfriends!
