Abe - by Robyn Brown (Paperback)

Book Synopsis

He's been running for years. The only question is what he's running from.

Tristan McConnell is twenty-five years old, unemployed, sleeping in his truck, and burning every bridge he's ever crossed. He's not a victim. He's not misunderstood. He's the guy who shoves a woman at a birthday party, steals a wallet from an old lady in a Walgreens aisle, and lies to the one person who ever truly loved him. He knows exactly what he is. He just can't figure out how to be anything else.

Somewhere between a dead-end job, a family he keeps at arm's length, a woman named Felicia he threw away on purpose, and a secret tattooed in Roman numerals on his forearm, Tristan has decided that disappearing is the only option left. He points his rusted-out Ford northwest and drives until the truck quits on him, somewhere in the Appalachian fog. That's when a man named Abe shows up.

Abe knows things he shouldn't know. He asks questions Tristan isn't ready to answer. And for reasons Tristan can't explain, he can't seem to get rid of him.

ABE is the kind of book that gets under your skin and stays there, a story about what it costs a man to finally stop running, and what might be waiting for him if he does.

If you've ever loved someone you couldn't reach, or been the person no one could reach, this one is for you.

Perfect for fans of The Shack by William Paul Young and Ordinary Grace by William Kent Krueger.
