Q: I use a San disk MP3 player with sleep function. After the MP3 player shuts off will the speaker shut down also or will it stay on? Does this speaker even have a sleep type function?

The Sandisk MP3 player will also not be able to control the speaker. Broke
Broke after about a year and a half. It no longer works unless plugged in. Sound quality was a bit lacking, hollow-sounding, bass not great.

ITEM DEFECTIVE - Altec lansing does not stand by their products
I purchased this Altec Lansing waterproof radio and after several months of use the radio started to automatically shutting off and turning back on. The radio would not let music play and continously turns off and off. I contacted Altec Lansing for the 1 year warranty and they wanted a receipt of purchase. I did not keep my receipt, but sent them the pictures of the radio, serial number, and bank statement. They were unwilling to help. The radio didn't even come into contact with water. And was used solely for portable/on the go use. I will now need to purchase a new radio as the solutions recommended still do not work. It appears to be a battery or bluetooth issue.
