From start to finish, this fascinating, enlightening illustrated book takes readers on an inspiring journey, revealing the natural actions of some of Earth's animal inhabitants in the fight against climate change. The way Author Alison Pearce Stevens spells out the intricate interconnectedness of our planet left me in awe and with a renewed understanding of how crucial it is to protect it. Animal Climate Heroes! provides easy-to-follow stories about complex scientific concepts for young readers as its pages explain how whales, sea otters, forest elephants, and echidnas help fight against the growing amount of carbon in our atmosphere. Each chapter concludes with tips that readers can follow themselves to contribute to that fight. Highly recommended.

This book addresses a serious topic in a funny, easy-to-undestand manner and has facts that will appeal to a wide range of kids (and adults). For example of a type of climate hero included: "Who are these mysterious climate heroes? Plants, algae, and cyanobacteria." From here, we learn about how photosynthesis is "the first step in a chain reaction to stiop climate change." I like thow we see what these seemingly little guys do and how their contributions add up to something big. Kids will love this book's humor and how even poo can help! How? You'll have to read about whales to discover this yourself. The illustrations throughout assist in the educational element as well as adding another layer of appeal. A must-have book to help kids learn about this important issue.
