  • A: This is the "no Gen assigned" pencil :) . It's AFTER 1st Gen & 2nd Gen and SHOULD be the 3rd Gen but NOPE. It's the USB-C "Gen" lol! After USB-C "Gen" is called Pro, abandoning Generation altogether.

  • A: They go: 1st generation, 2nd generation, USB-C "generation", then Pro "generation". Don't try to make sense of it but there are actually 4 generations...only 2 have the generation 'nomenclature'.

  • A: Hi, thanks for reaching out about Apple Pencil (USB-C). Good news: The Apple Pencil (USB-C) is definitely compatible with the iPad 10th Generation, so you have the right hardware! The confusion usually happens because, unlike other Apple Pencils, this one doesn't "snap" on to pair. It needs a physical cable connection for the very first setup. How to fix it: Slide open the end of the Pencil: Pull the top cap (where the eraser would be) away from the tip. It will slide up to reveal a hidden USB-C port. Use the iPad's charging cable: Take the white USB-C cord that came with your daughter's iPad. Plug one end into the Pencil and the other end directly into the iPad. Watch for the prompt: A "Pair" message should pop up at the top of the iPad screen within a few seconds. Tap Pair. Unplug and use: Once paired, you can unplug the cable and it will work wirelessly. Wrong pen inside box.

Wrong device. When I took this out of the bag (it was a drive up order) it was already opened and the wrong pen was inside. The pen inside was the second generation pen and not the USB C one. It looked used and didn’t even fit into the box correctly. It has black marks on it and the tip looked used. I returned it immediately.

Can't connect

Wouldn't connect to the iPad 6th generation as advertised. We tried connecting with an iPhone 13, iPhone 11 and MacBook with no avail. We read the packaging instructions as well as view YouTube videos. Despite it all, the pencil would not connect to any device. Returned product to retailer.
