Q: Is this an actual Apple brand?
A: Yes it is. It will come in Appel packaging with an Apple part number which you could use to verify. Worse case if it isn't then you can return it, but it is a genuine Apple branded accessory.

Q: This didn’t work on my iPad Pro 2018 and my new iPad Pro 2020. Why?
A: Weird. I have a 3rd gen 12.9 iPad which also came out in 2018. It works fine for me. You may want to call Apple for support. It should work on 2018 model iPad Pros.
