I bought this ham because of the raving reviews. Many saying their child would only eat this ham. I don't know why, nothing special about it. Not thinly sliced either.

Delicious! This is the most ethical brand of sliced ham I could find in supermarkets near me. I wish more people would research their meat and dairy products. You don't have to be vegetarian to not support certain horrible things.

The last three packages I bought have been gristley, fatty, and boney. It happens in the center of the meat. The flavor is great, but to bite into gristle, fat, or bone is a shock and just plain disgusting. I also have to talk to my co-op because I thought it was organic and that might explain the change in the packaging. I feel even in the natural meats should come in the same packaging as the organics, because it helps keep things consistent.

I have eaten Applegate Black Forest ham for YEARS as my "emergency sandwich" when I just HAD to eat something now! I bragged on the Applegate product to everyone I knew. Then it started changing. First the 8 slice pack went to 7 slices (3 1/2 servings??) then the ham started to change. I just choaked down the last slice I will buy. It was actually not edible but I refused to throw it away at the extremely high cost. The ham is no longer even recognizable. It is stiff with so many grains of fat it tears when you touch it. The taste is now full on chemical flavored. What a shame!! I was wiling to pay your prices for quality ham. But there are many bargain brands out there that taste the same or even better. I can not Believe the quality you now sale. Really?!!

The Applegate Naturals Black Forest Ham was a solid sliced ham. Generally speaking I like to see the uncured aspect but it was admittedly hard to tell the difference between this ham and any other product. Again, no qualms with the product (good taste, seemed fresh) but very hard to tell a distinct difference between this and other brands

I thought the ham was great, I ate it in a sandwich with some gouda and some lettuce and it was amazing. Great flavor and just the right amount of salt. I would recommend this product to anyone that wants a savory instant meal.

Overall, I thought the Applegate Naturals Black Forest Ham was good. It had a subtle smokey flavor but was a bit salty for my taste. I was able to locate it at my local supermarket. I would recommend it to friends and family.

This ham is ideal for sandwiches and even just eating straight out of the package. What I look for in a ham that I buy for sandwiches is something that is tasty, has the right texture, and perhaps most overlooked by some is the right thickness in each slice. This one has it all, and I like to use it with some mustard, lettuce, and tomato to make a killer sandwich. The saltiness level is just right, and the texture is as it should be. To top it all off, it's humanely raised so I can feel good about eating it.

Who doesn't love a sandwich. It's usually my go to for weekday lunch but with so many options for deli meat with so many additives you never know what you're actually getting. That's why I love Applegate Naturals® Black Forest Ham! There are no antibiotics, no nitrates or nitrates added, and they are humane. What more could you ask for? It's these differences that make the ham taste so great! I switch between their deli meats often but I find myself always coming back to the Black Forest Ham. I highly recommend this product.
