Board is well built and looks good to boot! Bios are very easy to upgrade, has plenty of ports, and aura sync works very well for RGB. If you're planning on filling it up with M.2s keep in mind there is some lane sharing, overall though it is a very good board for the price.

It was really difficult to make a decision on my new motherboard. My last build from 9 years ago was using an Asus z170. I decided to stick with Asus and wanted something that would last me. That's why I chose the TUF series of MOBO. I also wanted something that had plenty of M. 2 slots and this has 4 so I can add extra fast storage for the future. Setting up everything was simple. The only issue I had was the wifi7 antenna. Windows 11 wasn't recognizing the driver for the antenna even though I flashed the bios with the latest update, and it was't recognizing the driver that I put on the USB stick. My solution was to use an old pci-e wifi 6 antenna and the system recognized it immediately and then I was able to download the drivers and swap out for the Wifi7 antenna. A little extra work but not that difficult.

I got it a great price and a extended in store warranty. Previously i had the tuf x570 and that was a beast and still running with no issues. A bit expensive but I'm happy with Asus motherboards. Just be patient and wait for deals and offers. I got on sale and waiting for monster hunter wilds bundle. You just can't beat that kind of deal.

    Not My First Choice...

Well, it's not my first choice. I had an MSI board that I needed to replace and this was the only x870 board I could get to replace it immediately. Memory training and getting accustomed to a new cpu was interesting. Long boot times, clocked one startup at 1 min 57 seconds. M2_2 shares a lane with PCIE Gen5 so if you use that, and a gen 5 RTX card, you are going to have a little bit of performance issues. Benchmarked Far Cry 6 and I used to get between 90 and 120 FPS on ultra quality settings with the HD texture pack installed, now I get between 70 and 90 FPS with the same settings. Keep in mind, I do not have FC6 installed on the M2_2 ssd, but if you are going to install more than one ssd, then that is one factor to be considerate of. Now I have a gen 4 gpu[an TUF RTX 4070TI Super] with 16GB onboard, so I should not see a performance drop, but yet it happens.

It was time to upgrade by old CPU and Motherboard, so found a bundle that looked great. The Motherboard has great features and was easy to install. Performance so far is great, not tried any overclocking features yet. WiFi is far more stable than my previous external adapter and there's room for loads of memory, ideal for speeding up photo and video editing. The build quality is exceptional.

Tuf gaming on two tuf gaming platforms

This x870 M/B from ASUS tuf gaming is awesome. So much I bought two, well one is that and the other is the B850M. Also by ASUS tuf. The audio is really good also quick release on the m.2 slots and the first gpu pcie slot. The power stages and heat sink are very strong and both are overclockable boards that preforms well with am5 CPU’s. I have the R9 9950x and the R5 9600x. They allow my rigs to receive very good fps in most games. The combos I imagine make for entry level to high end PC’s. Paired with amd’s 7700xt and 7800xt. (Two 9070xt’s are on the way replacing the other gpu’s) So The R9 went with the 7800xt housed in the blueberry milk y70 touch infinite case. While the latter found its home in a Corsair 2500d cookies and cream build. Both are very nice looking and performs at its highest. I never had any issue with ASUS boards except for my first ASUS board which was a prime board b550 and maybe that’s because it was reslly cheap. It also had no heat sinks not even for the M.2 slot. Plus military graded parts equals very reliable motherboards and gpu’s at least to me. Great job ASUS

    Do Not Buy

Do not get if you want to use windows 10. Bluetooth and Wifi only works on Windows 11 despite there being "drivers" on the website for this board that are designed for windows 10. The driver installation process was horrendous and I have no idea how I managed to get it to work, but being forced to use windows 11 if I wanted wifi/bluetooth has been a miserable experience, might as well buy a board without wifi on it at that point.

Seems like the system and bios have minor issues. Sometimes just hangs on a reboot. Can take a long time to start up and post. For me, way too many bios settings that are auto and AI controlled. Have had one RAM stick go undetected several times. Requires physical reinstall to get working again. Uses a Realtek 8125 Ethernet driver which is a pain if you use Linux. Once it’s booted it works fine. Probably the most problematic motherboard I have owned. In 30 years of PC ownership, probably due to all the added complexities these days.
