Q: What stuff did they cut out from the core rulebook to make the condensed version for this set?

A: I haven't read it, but I would imagine that you can only play as the pregen characters and you'd have a limited ruleset, but enough to see how the game feels.

A: No, this is a tabletop rpg and the box will state that its minimum 3 players (1 game master and at least 2 players). Think of it as Avatar flavoured Pathfinder or D&D.

More Korra and Aang Era story lines
Great starter set if you missed out on the Kickstarter RPG. But the two new story lines are a plus even if you got the main game.

Excellent quality and resources. Great overall value
As an intro the game this set is excellent. It has the added benefit of provided players with a variety of Pre-Gens, something that was not included in the Kickstarter edition. The Adventure Booklet also includes content not previously available.
