Q: On the last photo, the labels look "frosty" on the glass jars, not completely transparent. Is that just the photo, or are they slightly opaque?

A: These labels are in fact clear.

"Clear" labels are Slightly Opaque

Avery labels are great, but the description on these labels is not accurate. It says they are "clear", but they are not. The labels are slightly white opaque and appear frosty on a clear bottle (see photo). The upside is they are fairly sturdy and easier to handle then some transparent labels that fold and stick to themselves.

I use this label for organize my pictures in folders, because being clear lets me write and pste to a picture if I need to. Alsothey are great for envelopes that need a formal writing ( that can be done using your printer and looks good)

We use these for more than shipping labels. At Holidays our foundation purchases dinner for hospice patients for 2 different local hospices. I meet the coordinators at the grocery store to pay for them. We use the labels as "donated by" labels on the boxed dinners. They labels are large enough to decorate for each holiday and have room for the foundation's name in an easy to read size. The easy peel is great when your in the store juggling stuff on a hand truck.

I'm using these labels as part of personalized gifts. Colors don't smear on the labels and with the clear background, you focus on the image and text not the label. The projects look great!
