Review Quotes
This board book presents a slice of life look at a dinosaur and its perilous adventures over the course of one day. For the diminutive triceratops, this singular day begins like any other, with a trip across the fields in search of food while her mother and other adult triceratops remain nearby. Baby Triceratops grazes at ease. Then, a predatory dinosaur arrives and gives chase. Fleeing with her mother, Baby Triceratops has to leap over obstructions, run as fast as her short legs allow, and follow as closely to her mother as she can to avoid the hungry predator. Eventually, the triceratops family escapes, but not before Baby Triceratops tumbles down a steep hill into a squishy mud puddle. Still, even this mishap cannot stymie Baby Triceratops and her determined approach to living. With her mother's assistance, a cleaned-off Baby Triceratops is once again happy to eat and learn about the world around her. Presented in a rhyming pattern, and full of colorful, imaginative illustrations, this board book will appeal to young listeners and emerging readers. Featuring an endearing main character and built against colorful backdrop, the story of Baby Triceratops will be enjoyed by emerging dinosaur fans.
