Q: How long does it take to put it together with two people?

  • A: We do not provide an hour marker, as everyone's skill set is going to be different. For a playhouse, all the wall panels are pre assembled, so it is just putting them together. We recommend just plotting out a full day to give yourself ample time.

Q: Can the outside walls be painted once assembled to provide more protection from weather?

  • A: Yes you pay paint your product, it only has a water based stain for color only on it. Make sure to also apply a clear waterproof sealant of your choice as soon as possible and yearly. Backyard Discovery Summer T.

Q: Does the 5 year warranty cover the door falling off from the wind tearing it off? Also does the extra 2 year Allstate toy insurance cover if something tears up on the playhouse from use?

HORRIBLE product

DO NOT BUY! Horrible quality and materials. Arrives with marks all over and wood that has yellow stains. The wood is so cheap it basically just cracks as you build and is extremely flimsy. Any wind, just a normal day to day will take it down (ours completely smashed) due to cheap materials. Playhouse is very light. We’ve had very nicer playhouses in the past. Will never get this brand again. Customer service is even worse than the product itself (not Target). No one listens to corners or reads emails properly causing them to ship broken parts to the wrong address and send damaged and marked up replacement parts. This has been a huge headache when it could have been extremely simple. Thanks Backyard Discovery

Good Product - Recommend

The guide video to assemble this product is top notch. The cedar smells beautiful and is of good quality. A few pieces developed tiny cracks during screwing process, but overall very minor. Door piece could be a bit larger to lessen gap, but again not an issue. Would recommend this product.

Sweetwater Kitchen Playhouse

We bought the Sweetwater Playhouse for our granddaughters who are 6 and 3 years old. They both spend endless hours playing in the house. We purchase some additional kitchen items for the house and both love taking our food orders and serving us.

Very cute playhouse

I just put this together and it took me and my very handy dad about 3 hours. I think it looks great but I’m interested how well it stays looking this nice. The wood on the roof is thin and feels cheap but the walls feel thick and sturdy. I think this is a good middle ground option for play houses and my daughter loves it!! The wood split in a few places during assembly on some of the sections where the wood feels thinner. I like it, and live the way it looks but I’m cautiously optimistic on durability.

So impressed with our cubby!

The Sweetwater Cubby has been the sweetest addition to our backyard 🤍 Beautiful solid timber, sturdy and thoughtfully made. The little kitchen and phone are such a hit, and we love how easy it is to move from the lawn to the patio. The company was fantastic to deal with and delivery was quick and seamless. The twins play in it every single day — highly recommend!

Great Playhouse despite tricky assembly.

Overall the quality of the product and building materials is high. Assembly can be done by one adult but is quite lengthy. Some concerns include: Many holes were not pre-drilled on the panels and required using a drill to prevent cracking. This should be systematically indicated. There is a strong smell from roof paint and wood panel coating which lingers for a long period. If using indoors it could be a problem for young children and others. The product should clearly indicate what chemicals were applied and if playhouse suitable for indoor use.

A Magical Little Playhouse—A New Family Favorite!

I couldn’t be happier with our Backyard Discovery Sweetwater Playhouse. It has quickly become the centerpiece of our backyard and a place where my grandchildren’s imaginations come alive every time they visit. The quality is excellent—sturdy, charming, and thoughtfully designed—and it looks even more adorable in person than in the photos online. My grandchildren absolutely love it. From the moment it was assembled, they claimed it as their own little home-away-from-home. This Christmas, they took things to a whole new level by decorating it for the holidays. They hung garland and bright red bows, placed a beautiful wreath over the front door, and—even more unbelievably—put a tiny Christmas tree inside! Seeing their excitement as they proudly showed off their perfectly festive “Christmas cottage” melted my heart. The Sweetwater Playhouse is more than a toy—it’s a magical place where countless memories are already being made. If you’re considering it, don’t hesitate. It’s well worth it and has brought so much joy to our family, especially during the holidays. Highly recommend!

Solid and cute

Purchased this adorable play house for my 3 year old granddaughter in August and she loves it. ❤️ She plays with it every day and especially loves the working door bell, sink and-the plastic pot and pan with utensils. 😊

Good quality

Amazing little house! Not too difficult to assemble, took about 2 hours of careful assembly. We decided to keep it indoors for now, but will later move it outside. Our toddler loves it!

Just buy it!

It’s an adorable playhouse that my grandkids will enjoy for years! Definitely is a 2 person job, but the Bilt 3D directions were quite helpful. Added a couple shelves inside and painted playhouse to make it last.
