Q: How does the finial attach to the rod? For example, does the finial screw into a hole in the rod or does the finial fit around the rod like a cap?
A: Hi Leslie, you are right, the finials screws into the end of the rod. They do not fit around the rods like a cap.

Q: I want to install at patio door without center bracket. Is rod strong enough to hold drapes & not bend without center bracket?
A: Hi Bonnie - Thanks for shopping our curtain rod collections! This rod holds up to 30 pounds, however that is with the center bracket. We hope this will work for you. - Katrina
submitted byKatrina - 4 years agoTarget staff supportA: I have another question. Can I buy a single bracket for my curtain rod? I do not need to buy the whole new rod. I am having trouble trying to find parts to order. I bought the threshold brand Ball threshold brand. Thank you for your help Bonnie.
submitted byBonnie - 3 years agoA: It's iffy. The drapes I bought are rather heavy and lined, and they are spanning about 100". There's a slight, fairly imperceptible bow in the middle, which you may or may not notice depending on how everything is hanging, where the window frame is for visual reference, etc. At this width the rod is almost completely closed in the middle, showing only about an inch of its inside rod. With lighter drapes, it could work, depending on your width. There are also "C" rings available which will slide past a center support. I probably should have those instead of my clip rings!

Q: What is the diameter of the screw on the finial? I would like to purchase different finials and need to make sure those I purchase will fit... Thank you!
A: Hi javainsomniac: all finials that we produce for the Target Threshold program come with the standard 1/4” screw size ending. So just be sure the rod you wish to use the finial for also is fit to receive a 1/4” screw ending.

Q: I noticed the plastic white pieces aorund the rods. Can the plastic be removed since I don't want it showing when installed on wall?
A: Hi Jan, we don't recommend removing that insert piece as it acts as a sort of connector piece for a smoother connection of the two rods. You can try to use without it but the two rods might scratch each other and not fit as tight and stable without it.
