Q: This is label "certified gluten free" yet it also states manufactured on the same equipment as wheat.

  • A: Hi Celiac Fam, Thanks for reaching out and for your question. We understand your concern, and want to address your question in full. For transparency, check out our comprehensive allergen information chart on our FAQ page which outlines all allergen info for each specific product that we sell. Our rice is produced in a dedicated gluten-free facility but is packed in a facility that also processes Egg, Milk, Peanuts, Soy, Tree Nuts, Wheat. When allergens are present at a facility, Banza manufacturing partners sanitize and test each manufacturing line between production runs to ensure our products do not come into contact with allergens. Furthermore, we understand that manufacturing facilities that use shared production equipment to produce foods both with and without gluten could result in gluten cross-contact. We test all of our finished products after manufacturing and can confirm that the presence of gluten is always below 10 ppm, which is below the standard for Certified Gluten-Free Products as defined by the FDA and in line with the Certified Gluten Free Organization. That said, we always recommend talking to a doctor, dietitian, or an allergist before introducing any Banza products into your diet if you have concerns about sensitivity to cross contamination. I also wanted to let you know that in the coming months, we will be completely manufacturing this product in a dedicated gluten-free facility. Our packaging will be updated to reflect this change. I hope this provides some additional clarity! Don't hesitate to drop us a line if you have any further questions :) Pasta la vista, Team Banza
