@bookquoth “And in trying to figure out what we want to do, in trying to figure out what makes us happy, we’re bound to feel a little lost at times. But maybe this sense of feeling lost is necessary. Maybe feeling lost is what pushes us to keep exploring. It’s the ethereal song that awakens our curiosities and drives us to follow cows, discover hidden coves, and find remnants of good in a world that so often feels too dark and broken. Maybe feeling lost is just the prerequisite of adventure—the first chapter of any good story.” 💙 . . You guys. I have a new friend, and she’s called the Barely Functional Adult. And I love her. This was the perfect light read that I needed! Funny, SO relatable, and just makes you feel better about yourself and life in general. I received an ARC (thank you, harperperennial!) but after reading two of the stories, I immediately bought the hard copy—and the plushie. 😳. It’s that good! And made me smile real big. So if you’re looking for something different or to get out of that reading slump, it’s a collection of eight illustrated stories that you can easily devour it in one sitting (but I tried to pace myself). For some cheering up, be sure to check out the comic barelyfunctionaladult! Thank you, Meichi, for this lovely creation! 💙 . . P.S. See my stories for some sneak peeks of the adorable content!
