Basic Cat Hooded Litter Pan

This box is fantastic for my senior kitties. Large entry, lower in front for easy access. And covered to prevent over spraying. I have 4 of them. I take the doors off because my babies don’t like doors. Best litter boxes I’ve ever owned.

This is the best litter box I have found. It’s the only one that doesn’t leak when my high peeing cat reaches the seam. Lately I’ve had trouble finding these. I hope you continue to have them. I do wish the Blue would come back though.

I've been buying this design of litter box since it came out. The only box I have found that doesn't leak though the seam, as my boy raises his rear end as he pees.

I ordered a jumbo cat litter box. The clear plastic swinging door was defective in that it was wider than the opening. When I pushed the clear plastic door, because it was too wide, it jammed to the sides of cut-out space and would not swing at all. I had to really push it hard to unstick it, and my 8-pound cat would not have had a chance of being able to enter the box itself. I am a 68-year old woman who is not handy and I do not own any scissors that would be sharp enough to trim the door, nor would I know how to trim it properly (and I shouldn't HAVE to trim a door on a brand new litter box). I'm in quarantine due to the pandemic, and it wasn't worth my time or risking my life to go to the Post Office to ship the litter box back to PetMate. So I removed the door and the litterbox is otherwise fine -- it is clean, new, room for lots of litter, and it looks ok, but there is minimal odor control as a result of the big open door space (mitigated by filters). I didn't ask for a refund because I didn't return it. I'm just stuck with it. However, the litter box works fine in every way except for having no door. The cat used it immediately with no adjustment issues from her previous box, which had just gotten too old to be smell-free.

I had to remove the door as my 2 cats would not use it. Once this was removed (less private), they were good with it. Large size and all else is perfect!!

I love this litter box. I gave it a four because of the rounded edges in the back. It's hard to scoop litter from the round in the box. If the box was square in back it would work a lot better. I have an odd cat who urinates standing up.

I think this box door is cheaply made, the door tabs broke off in 7/8 days. No replacement door available, unsure why??

We filled it up and gave it to our sweet kitty, Aciya and she went right in, scratching and checking it out. Within a couple minutes she was using it, and continues to use it. I really like this pan! Great find!

My cat is older and likes his privacy and this is great for him. I like the way it keeps the litter in it when my cat gets out. It keeps the area clean. It holds odors in very well, also. It's very easy to clean. I would recommend this to my friends and family.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Petmate jumbo hooded litter pan is great if you have multiple cats in your home. It is spacious and it has a filter to help control the odor. The cats were curious and kept going in and out the door at first, they seemed to think it was a toy so they loved it, I love it for the privacy. The door is removable which is an added bonus. The Petmate jumbo hooded litter pan has high walls to prevent litter from getting all over your floor, that's another of my favorite features. I don't know how I've lived without it.

There is so much room inside of it, my cats can easily roam around and pick their favorite spot without issue. My 2 cats are getting used to it, as they are not used to all of the room they now are provided. Could it possibly be a little too big? They seem to like it. Overall it appears to be of quality construction. It is not flimsy when picked up filled with litter. I definitely recommend!

They kept taking turns going in it. I'm so glad that now no more litter clean up and smells awesome with the filter.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My very large cats love this new litter box. With the swinging door and cover it helps with the odors. Because of the size the cats enjoy the space they have to do their duty. This has been beneficial to both the humans and the fury babies.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Petmate jumbo hooded litter pan has a unique design that keeps more litter in the box and off the floor than any other litter box I have previously used. It is spacious enough to accommodate my 10 year old, 15 pound cat and allow him to turn around. I love the dual swing door that gives the cats added privacy and prevents litter from going all over the floor! Despite the cats never having a litter box with a door prior, they warmed up to it very quickly and both of the kitties used it within 4 hours of display.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this a week or so ago. I put a 40 lb. box of litter in there and it fit perfectly. I have 3 other open litter boxes because I have 7 cats. I thought they might like one with a cover. It was a nice suprise to have the air filter on the top, but somehow they keep knocking it into the litter box! I have 1 cat that loves it in the Petmate Jumbo Hooded Litter Pan. She is always in there when I go in the "cat room". The top comes off easy for cleaning it out. I scooped it out once and there was only I clump from urine. I think she just wants to live in there and not let the other cats use it. If it was their only choice, I am sure they would go in there with her. But, she is happy and I'm sure it will work great in the long run!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Having 2 cats use the same litter box can cause both smell and a dirty box fast but this litter box provides a charcoal filter to reduce odors and it is large enough to hold much more litter. The flip lid is easy to maneuver and helps give them privacy. I love that the top is so easy to remove making clean up a breeze! I highly recommend this litter box!

My cat was a little bit hesitant at first but now that she has found her litter she seems to have no problem using it. I would definitely recommend this product to all of you cat owners!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like how big this litter box is but at the same time the way it's designed you dont have to put a ridiculous amount of litter in it. My cat was a little shy about wanting to go inside it at first. If your cat is the same I reccomend not putting lid on at first once it gets used to the litter box introduce the lid. With the lid on it really does limit the amount of litter that ends up on the ground.
