I mix a small amount with water in the palm on one hand and work it into a lather. I apply it to my face and work using my fingertips in a circular motion, for about 15 seconds. I sometimes use a microfiber cloth to go over my face again before rinsing well. Rarely is there any trace of makeup left and that is usually because I am in a hurry.

I will note that I wear fairly light makeup - tinted sunscreen, some brow gel, and maaaaaybe some non-waterproof mascara if I'm really feeling fancy. That aside, it does a wonderful job removing oil and making me feel clean without drying out my skin, which is incredibly sensitive.
