Q: Will the pole and ribs rust with water exposure? The current one I have ( different brand) rusts and everytime we take it out of the base rusty water gets everywhere

A: Hello, these are umbrellas are UV protected, however, fading is inevitable. However, darker shades such as red will naturally fade faster than lighter colors such as more reflective color as in white or light yellow.

After just 6 wks of use the umbrella handle became very very stiff which made it difficult to close. The up position worked fine but not the close position. I was not able to return the umbrella to Target because they said it was a 3rd party vendor who sold it. I thought I was buying this from Target, not a 3rd party vendor through target.com. Therefore the item didn't allow for 90 day returns. I would not recommend this umbrella.

Bought these umbrellas in red, in a 7.5 ft and 9 ft size last summer from Target. The 7.5 ft one arrived with a dented Pole. The 9 ft one was only used a few times, because it was a bit too large for my space. I kept it stored inside the house. I decided today to pull it out and put it up again - but found that two of the poles had pushed through the pockets that hold the umbrella taut - despite the fact that it's relatively new with little use! So now, it looks tacky, and will no longer perform the way and umbrella should. I also noted last year about halfway through summer the color was already fading. Very disappointed with these, and will look for a different company the next time I purchase.

I have had this umbrella for a year now and I really like it. We live in Colorado so we bring them in for the winter. I wanted to write a review for those of you that are particular about color… when they first came out of the cox they are more “ivory”… yellowish, (I didn’t like), but before long they fade a little to a nice off white “sailcloth” color. I just thought I’d share this…😊
