    Sauce Packagine Redesign Fail!

    Love the skillet meal itself, absolutely HATE the new sauce packaging. Horrible and messy! Bring back the old packaging!!

    Tasty!

    I'm kinda surprised to see all the negative ratings. This is a tasty meal! Its a simple meal to cook too. Drop it in a pan, peel the sauce package and add it, cover up, and cook for 12 minutes with the occasional stir. Its tasty and low calories! The whole bag is only 600 some calories. Thanks Birdeye!

    Missing the sauce

    I brought this on Tuesday and cooked it that night as I was late cooking I figured this would be a great quick meal. There was no sauce in bag or on the food. Was so bland. This was the 1st time this happened.

    Terrible sauce packaging

    Good but WHYYYYY the sauce package resign???? Extremely difficult to open now and messy. I hope they change it back asap

    Great for those nights you don’t want to cook!

    This is one of my go- to’s for an easy dinner. It’s super easy to cook and takes no time at all. I highly recommend for those nights you don’t feel like cooking. This brand makes other yummy options as well!

    CRITICAL SAFETY ISSUE FOR YOUNG CHEFS IN TRAINING

    SAFETY ISSUE for younger chefs in training. When I am trying to teach my younger family members and then have to entrust them with scissors, it becomes a serious concern when they have to use scissors to cut a pouch that they could normally peel. I can foresee injuries with younger people who lack gross motor skills to properly use a scissors with this new pouch design. The process of making dinner has essentially been ruined. So many reasons, so little space. Pouches have to be thawed. Product looks slightly different in colour. (Did you also change the recipe for the sauce?) RECOMMENDATION: For the love of family PLEASE change it back and stop being cheap. Safety over profit! If the pouch is not changed I can no longer support this product and I would encourage others NOT to purchase it either. There are too many single parents out here trying to teach their children how to be self sufficient without having to worry about getting injured while cooking. Thank You

    Horrible Sauce Packet Redesign

    The new sauce packet is awful, there is no pull tab to “lid” and the sauce is just vacuum sealed in a bag. I had to cut it open by slicing the frozen and very cold package with a knife and then had to pull for 10 minute to I wedge it out from where it had creases. Terrible design.

    Lacking Quality/Quantity, Poor Sauce Redesign

    We used to love this product, but the quality control and quantity has gone down in recent months. We always get the 40 oz family size and twice we had extra sauce packets, which caused us to also have less pasta. Once we had one extra sauce packet, and once we had two! There was barely any pasta! And now the sauce packets are awful and a pain to open and use! Before, they were easy to peel open and empty into the dish within seconds. Now it takes at least five minutes to wrangle a frozen, wrinkled sauce packet where there is no room to cut open and my hand will freeze off before I manage; and using a barrier in between my hand and the frozen sauce packet makes it all the more cumbersome to handle and maneuver! We used to enjoy the broccoli florets in the pasta, but now we're lucky if there are two in the entire package because now they are replaced with tough broccoli stalk pieces which none of us like. There is also less pasta and chicken in the packages. If the quality and quantity do not improve, we will have to stop buying it.

    Sauce Packet Change Ain’t It

    Change to new sauce packets is HORRIBLE. Old sauce packet opening made sense. New packets has it vacuum sealed and appears somebody squeezed it in their hand as vacuuming. It has plastic being sucked into numerous folds. Impossible to open with it still frozen as instructions imply. You either completely thaw the sauce packet separate or risk getting plastic bits in your meal. Can’t label it VOILA if it isn’t VOILA anymore.

    Great quick one pan meal

    Great texture and valued product. Cooking is super easy great for a meal tou dont want to spend all night in the kitchen. Everything you need is all in the bag.

    Awful change to sauce packets

    They changed the sauce packets so it's impossible to remove while frozen now. Whole packet has to be thawed before using because there's no way to get it out of all the folds.

    Sauce packet packaging changed

    The sauce packet packaging has changed. It used to be easy to peel open and dump the sauce into the pan. Now the packets get frozen and folded on themselves. I had to run the packets under hot water to be able to flatten them to open them. The side tear notch is hard to grasp and rip open. Very frustrating now my hands are cold and wet from the packets just to open them.

    Ratio consistency is questionable at best between the ingredient quantities and they changed the sauce packets into these annoying scissor open bags that get a chunk of the sauce all over your hands when opening. By the way, did anybody tell the design team that the sauce may thaw? If it does thaw, good luck getting it out of the plastic after it refreezes, as it can(will) pinch the bag making it almost impossible to remove without warming up the sauce and making a mess. Sauce also smells funny, like it went bad before being frozen and shipped.

    Really good quick meal

    I found these while roaming around the aisles looking for some quick and easy meals. The photo on that package is what caught my eye. It looks delicious, and it cooked up nicely. The consistency was good, and it had a nice texture. The flavor was nice, and I'd definitely buy again. I look forward to trying some of the other great flavors I have seen.

    Great choice for convenience and quick meals

    Birds Eye Viola’s family meals are an excellent choice for convenience, but also taste good at the same time. Sometimes the broccoli stems outnumber the broccoli florets, the sauce has a creamy taste in the chickens usually good.

    Easy to cook and ready within minutes

    Such a staple in my house! Easy to cook, and is ready in minutes, with a great taste! The aroma smells the house like a true meal. You get so much food in the bag, for such a great price.
