A: Yes, shuts off in 1 hour. However, we've had 2 of these and our daughter bought 1. They have a permanent shut off after just under 1 year. We now bought a different, much more expensive coffee maker. 3 months; time will tell I guess.

Had this maker two months. - Coffee comes out acrid and bitter regardless of the blend. I’ve deep cleaned it three times, but the problem persists. - Poor design; indicator light on power button nearly impossible to see. - Warming plate far too hot; I can smell scorched coffee in the next room 15 minutes after brew cycle complete

I purchased this for my husband thinking it would be perfect for his morning coffee at home. We have had it for a few months and it's broke or something. The plastic black base that the glass pot sits in is literally cracked and the base itself looks warped. I tried to do a return since I purchased it online and I was unable to. I would never purchase this again nor recommend it.

This coffee maker has been a problem since I purchased it. Once you push the button it should brew. NOPE. You have to plug it in, unplug it, put the carafe in the unit, push down on the filter basket, repeat until it starts. Literally takes over 30 minutes just to get it to brew.

The coffee pot works great, HOWEVER, we have granite counter tops and within a year, have gone through 3 of these coffee pots because if the pot is warm AT ALL and the counter is cool AT ALL and they meet, the glass shatters. Got to switch because the glass seems very weak. We have other glass dishes and it’s never a problem. Just with this pot

Simple and effective but with a couple little gripes

Obviously I am not expecting the functionality of a $100 coffee maker, and this one I'd say is a pretty good value for what you're paying nowadays. For some positives, I often do utilize the programmed timer feature, just so I can wake up the next morning and have my coffee ready to go. The coffee flavor is nice and strong, consistently having stronger and more flavorful brews than my previous coffeemaker that broke. Its simple, it's effective, and it does the job. Now for the cons. It does brew VERY slowly, and is a large reason I would like to use the preprogrammed timer so I can wake up and not have to wait too long for that morning caffeine. Another thing I've noticed as well to keep in mind, is that you have to be very careful to make sure the pot is lined up correctly. Unlike my older ones, this coffee maker doesn't quite snap the pot in the perfect position, and many times my coffee would just sit in the basket and eventually dump a bunch of grounds into the pot. So long as you make sure that it's lined up correctly, it works just fine, but even a tiny little bit off can ruin your brew.

Pot cracked and broke

We used this coffee pot regularly for 4 months and it was fine. For the price, it gets the job done and we couldn’t complain. The on/off light is a little hard to see when it’s lit but not a big issue. The reason I’m giving only 1 star is because out of nowhere, the pot itself shattered one day. Luckily, it was empty when it happened. One big crack appeared down the side and splintered up to the top and the pour spout broke off. I have no idea what caused this as the pot was (luckily) empty. It would have cost more to buy just a replacement coffee pot than a whole new unit. We upgraded to a Cuisinart coffee maker, as we’ve been through several cheaper models this year already.

Fantastic product! Our previous Black & Decker, model cm1060b, was good but this model cm1110b is simply better. The overall design is great and the new vortex technology makes a great cup of coffee. I had a prior model that worked fine until the carafe got a hole in it. I hate that you can’t see the power button light up on this model. When you push the power button you can’t really see if the light is on or not unless you’re right up close. It’s a simple design problem that is so annoying. I will choose a different brand next time.
