Q: Hi, the red light is on to indicate that the iron is heating up. But it stays on. How do I know that the temperature is reached or the light is supposed to turn off when the temperature is reached?

submitted by Diane - 2 years ago
  • A: Thank you for your question regarding your Black+Decker Steam Iron. The indicator light will stay on to show that the iron is getting power. You will want to allow the iron to heat up for at least two minutes to reach the set temperature. If you need further assistance, please contact me at youropinionmatters@spectrumbrands.com and reference ID number 42364209 so that I may be able to better assist you.

Q: I see a red tape, possibly a joint when the cord is fully pulled out. Anyone else see an electrical tape used to insulate joints at the very end or is mine used? I haven't removed the tape yet to see if it is indeed a joint as the iron worked fine.

submitted by Sunny - 5 years ago
  • A: Thank you for your interest in this Black + Decker iron. The red tape on the cord indicates the maximum length the cord should be extended. Please do not attempt to pull the cord out any further, as there may not be enough tension left to retract the cord properly. If you need further assistance, I’d be happy to help! Please contact us at youropinionmatters@spectrumbrands.com and reference 42009816 so that we may better assist you.
